The yellow light of day was just filtering through my window when I heard the door at the top of the stairs. I jumped up running to the front of my cell- careful not to touch the silver bars. My wrists were badly burned by the cuffs- now that they were in front of my body I could see the angry blisters- a natural wolf reaction to touching silver. I craned my head hoping to see Aura again. She didn’t frighten me so much. I was relieved to see her descending the steps, but she wasn’t alone. Another woman with long dark hair followed her. She wore hers loose- tumbling wildly down her back. She had similar white skin- her eyes were a startling ochre like a wild cat as she peered down her long sharp nose at me. I scuttled back a couple steps.
