Running had left me deeply exhausted. I wasn’t used to running as a wolf, so I basically fell asleep the moment we arrived at the bedroom. I had fallen asleep in my clothes, but when I awoke, I was wearing a soft nightgown. I stretched my sore muscles sitting up in the bed. Aric was snoring softly at my side, but Alec was not in the bed.
I tiptoed into the bathroom and took a quick shower and dressed in a baby blue sweater dress with tights and ankle boots. I tied back my hair with a little silk scarf. I reached out with my mind seeking Alec.
