Chapter 5-Ken Frost

“His name is Ken Frost,” said Dan.

“What’s his power?” asked Caliber.

“His power is fire”

“Then he shouldn’t be that hard to beat-”

“No, his fire is nothing like what you think. The fire he produces is the hottest I have seen, his fire can even burn asbestos. There is no way you can beat him. Please, I beg you, don’t try to fight him. I don’t want you to di-”

“It doesn’t matter if I fight him now or not, one day he will come out himself to fight, stronger than ever, so it is for the best that I fight and defeat him now and I have already told you, if I or someone else doesn’t kill him a lot of people will be in danger, even kids, so don’t worry”

“So let someone else fight him. I want him dead as well. He killed my parents, but that doesn’t mean it has to be you who kills him-”

“It has to be, it has to be me who defeats him, and I promise you will get your revenge for your parents-”

The door opened and Cidena entered. “Here, I brought hi-”

“BROTHER,” said Dan Brother, you are alive”. He tried to run towards his brother but as his hands were locked he wasn’t able to.

“Leave Dan please, take me instead-”

“Don’t worry, we are not going to do anything to him, here?” he said, and opened Dan's lock.

“Brother,” Dan said and hugged his brother and started to cry.

Cidena locked the door just in case they tried to run. “Where are the others?” Dan asked.

“They are in another room” his brother answered.

“I didn’t bring them as this room isn’t very big, but they are safe. Don’t worry,” Cidena said and walked towards Caliber. “So, did he tell you anything?”

“He told me everything. They are being ordered by Ken Frost. According to Dan, he is very strong. I just have to ask where Ken Frost is, then I will go and ask the Chief for permission to go after Ken Frost myself-”

“Yeah, like I will let you go alone and fight someone strong enough to order 7 brothers, even if they are 15. I mean you are even younger and outnumbered. If you are going, then so am I.”

“If you want, I guess you can come along, and I don’t even think the chief will let me go alone.”

“Hopefully not. The chief thinks very highly of you, so he will probably let you go on the mission, but he also cares for you, so he will probably not send you alone.”

“Wasn’t that what I said just now?” Caliber asked with a disappointed face.

“Sooo, Dan, where would Ken be right now?”

‘Yep, she ignored me, well it doesn’t matter now’ Caliber thought to himself.

“I am not sure, but he should be in Lorgburg city.”

“Do you know where in Lorgburg city?” Cidena asked.

“I think he should be in a small warehouse behind Laewaes. If he is not there, I don’t know where he will be, but he should come back after a day or so.”

“Why is that?”

“Why will he not be there for a day or so? That is because he lives in a house near his town, but he doesn’t live in the town. That’s all I know.”

“Do you know why he doesn’t live in the town?”

“No-”

“I do,” said Dan’s brother “I don’t know the exact reason but I know that it’s a family reason.”

“And what would your name be?”

“Stan, and also if you are wondering why we were so weak, that is because we were injected by something. Ken was the one who injected us. He was trying to make a syringe which could increase his power’s strength, so he was testing it on us, and that is the reason why we were sent here, so go before he can complete syringe”

“But what will happen to you? The syringe you were injected with didn’t work, so now what?”

“That is why we are not using our powers, because whenever we do, we start to feel extremely weak. We used them before. That is why when we were fighting you we were extremely weak. We are still feeling weak and we might even die if we use our power again.”

“But didn’t Dan use his power?”

“Yeah he did, but he didn’t use it till we fought you, and we were afraid you might kill us, so he used it.”

“Bro, try to heal them and see if it works,” said Caliber to the unknown guy sitting in the room.

“Is he your brother?”

“No, I just called him that because I don’t wanna use his real name.”

The unknown guy then tried to heal him. “Till you heal them I will go and tell the chief about Ken and ask him to let me go to fight Ken” Caliber said as he was leaving.

MIRAN’S OFFICE

“May I come in?” Caliber asked.

“Yes, you. Did he tell you anything?”

“Yes he did, they are being ordered by Ken Frost, his power is fire and they say he is very strong and he lives in Lorgburg city. He should be in a small warehouse behind Laewaes right now.”

“Good thing that I chose you both to interrogate him, and who is the third guy I have never seen him around.”

“He doesn’t tell anyone who he is, and also would you allow me to go to Laewaes town, with Cidena, to defeat Ken?”

“I am not sure, he did say that he is strong." he thought for a second. "I guess I will allow you and Cidena just be safe and I am considering this as an A-rank job, so I will pay both of you 5000 coins.”

“Thank you for trusting me and Cidena with an A-rank job, and I promise I will defeat him and come back alive, and I have another favour to ask. Don’t put them in jail, they were forced to do what they did, just keep them all in at least a little bigger room than the 6 brothers were in, and I am saying this because I am sure they are trustworthy and are very young. Thank you”

“I will trust you, and try to see what I can do.”

“Thank you, sir, I should go and tell my family I am going on an A-rank job and I won't be back for a while, and if my sister still comes to ask about me, just tell her I will be back in some time and I am on an important mission,”

“Don’t worry about your family, they will be safe. You should be worried about yourself.”
