Chapter 7

Unknowns POV

I was packing my bags with the things I need, when I get to Montana in the USA. I packed some clothes, shoes, boxers, my drawings, some books and I put my drawing tablet in my backpack with my drawings and its charger. I heard a knock at my door and saw my sister entering my room. "Hey bro, you ready to go?" She asked "I guess so?" It sounded more like a question then a response. "Are you sure with this, I mean we know that the moon goddess wants you to be a protector for someone, which is by far the biggest request that she gave you, but you don't even know who the girl your supposed to protect is and besides." She paused, rubbing her neck "what will everyone in the place where she lives think about us once we get there." She said a bit worried.

Me and my sister are the only werewolf parasites left in this world because people consider us as a dangerous species of wolf, even the other werewolves thinks were bad news. Technically we are dangerous, but only when it comes of us being threatened, but thanks to that, people along with other supernatural beings started to whip us out to extinction. We used to live with our parents in the outskirts of Peru in the woods away from people who wanted to hurt us. Our mom was human, but our dad was a werewolf parasite. The four of us were happy with the lives we had me and my sister went to school and stuff like that, until the day I turned 13 and had my wolf parasite, Sweetly, some humans came and started to burn our house.

Our dad told us to run when he shifted to es wolf parasite. I wanted to stay and fight with him but I was pulled away by mom, who had my older sisters hand in her other one and pulled us telling us to run. We ran as far away as we could and didn't look back, until we heard footsteps getting close to us. We saw four rouges geaning on us. We stopped and mom told us to climb up a tree and said she'll make them chase her instead, my sister and I begged her to not do it, but she gave us one last hug and pushed us to the tree. We climbed it and saw that mom had already ran in another direction with the rouges hot on her trail.

That was the last time we ever saw our parents alive that day. Two years have past since that day of my birthday, it was supposed to be a special day for me, but it turned to a living nightmare. It still hurts when ever my birthday came, cuz its always a reminder of what happened so long ago. the last thing our mom said was "stay safe my children. I love you." I'm fifteen now and my sister and I have been in hiding for a long time. We ran away from our old home town and moved to the city, with some relatives of ours.

Last week I had a dream where the moon goddess, creater of the werewolf species, came to me and said "you must go to the United States and travel to Montana, I give the mission to protect the daughter of a she-wolf, who passed a long time ago, for she has powers like no other living creature has." I asked her why must I do it and who this girl was. "I can not tell you who she is, but I can tell you that you must seek a girl with baby pink eyes. And the reason I chose you for this mission is because she will help you find a real home, where you and your sister can be safe in." She said and started to walk away.

"Bro?" My sister brought me back to reality with her concerned voice "sis" I said walking to her with my bags in hand, placing them down beside the doorway and grabbing her hand, giving it a tight squeeze "I know your scared of going to a new place with the same tip of beings that killed mom and dad, believe me,I'm scared to. But the moon goddess gave me this mission, para que los dos estemos seguros. Aaand maybe we could finally have a place where we could call home and to stop hiding." I said to her, giving her a small smile,which she returned. "And who knows, maybe you could find your mate in the university that has all the careeres in it." I added, giving her a wink, that made her blush "Oooh callate! Your so annoying." She said and left, while I was laughing at her.

I grabbed my bags and went to the living room to see my sister with her bags, while looking at her phone. She looked up and gave me a smile, once she saw me coming to her. "Ready to go?" She asked "as ready as I'll ever be." I said and she grabbed her bags and we walked out the door to the apartment we were living in and went to my sisters car to drive to the airport. We already had our tickets booked to our destination.

Once we got there we gave our tickets to the receptionest and started to board the plane and took our sits. We'll take of in a few minutes, so I decided to take my tablet out of my backpack and started to finish the commission, someone asked me to make of their characters for them, so they can pay me. 'Finally we're leaving this hell of a country and moving somewhere with a forest, so we can run!' My wolf parasite, Sweetly said, both excited and relieved that we're finally going to a place where we could shift for the first time in two years.'Me to amigo mio, me to.' I said to him and smiled, while I went back to finishing the drawing.

Ambers POV

Me,Michael,Jane,Drake,Willow,Daphne,Brittney and Sophia went to a restaurant, that was a six minute drive from Moon Shine territory, that served the best Italian food ever. Once there I parked the van in the parking lot. Yes we also have a van so sue us. We were received by the owner of the restaurant, who also knows of the mistreatment of Sophia and cares for her to and is also a close friend of ours. "Hello there Amber and I see you brought your sisters along with some friends." He said "hello Stephano, yes we came to eat here because of... something personal." I said to Stephano.

"Let me guess, that omega, Emily, must have put something in little Sophia's food again, didn't she." He said with a little irritation in his Italian accent. "Probably, but we honestly didn't know, but still better be safe than sorry. Right?" I said to him, giving him a small smile. "Stupida cagna" he muttered "that omega doesn't know her place, but I'm glad you got Sophia out of there, before she even tried that w**es food." And he motioned for us to come in.

Once inside, pointed to a long table with 8 seats. We were so thankful to him for putting this for us. "Don't worry about it, after all, I do this because you know how thankful I am to Sophia for all she's done for me." He said and looked at Sophi with a gentle smile, making her blush. He chuckled.

Once seated he said "would you like the same thing you order or would you prefer something else?" He asked "umm, c-can I have steak with salad and a glass of water,please." Sophia asked. Weird, she always orders a burger and fries with a milk shake like the rest of us the times we came here, I wonder what made her change her mind. Even Stephano and the girls were a bit surprised.

We ordered the same, while the others order a pizza, which they'll share with us. A few minutes later our food came and we digged in, while we aet our food like someone was going to steal it, Sophia was taking her time eating her food saving the moment she was enjoying something with out anyone say to her to hurry up so she had to do stuff. Seeing her like this makes me just want to take a picture and save that smile she has.

"So, what's that about Sophia helping the owner of this restaurant anyway?" Drake asked, bringing me back to reality. "Oh well, 3 years ago Stephano was having trouble with a lot of things. How his family disowned him because the alphas daughter of his old pack rejected him, cuz he didn't have 'potential' or 'strength' to run a pack, so he left and came to Montana to start over, but he was still having trouble with being disowned by his parents and rejected by his mate that he almost committed suicide." I said.

"But how did he change his mind of doing something like killing himself, when he had a bad life?" Jane asked sadly. "I talked him out of it." Sophia suddenly said. We all looked at her and I saw that she was half finished with her steak and salad. "I was in a tree next to the bridge trying to hide from some pack members that were looking for me, when I heard someone crying, at first I thought that I was imagining things, until I turned my head to the bridge and saw Stephano close to the edge, with an empty bottle of alcohol in his right hand and crying." She paused for a minute, taking a sip of her water before continuing. "I came down from were I was hiding and started getting closer to, but I couldn't figure out what he was saying, until he was about to jump off the bridge. Luckily I grabbed his hand on time before he even hit the river, that was moving fast." She said and a single tear ran down her face remembering that day.

She whipped it a continued "once I pulled him on to the bridge again, I asked him why he wanted to kill himself, but he was to upset and I couldn't understand a word he said, so I told him to calm down and that's when he told me what happened to him in his old pack, of course I was upset and sad for what his parents and mate did to him, so I decided to help him with finding a place to stay, so I called Amber to see if she could tell dad to let in a new member."

"Yeah, I said that I could do that and I did. We gave him a house, not to far from our territory, but still close inof for us to keep an I on him, just to make sure he didn't try to commit suicide again." I said telling them what happened after she brought Stephano to Moon Shine. "Mmhmm, I kept visiting him two or three times a week to see if he was better, but it looked like he was really depressed, still remembering about his old life, so I helped him get over it, by trying to find something he can do to distract himself. Of course we went out to do things as friends like hang out and stuff, but it looked like it wasn't working, until we aet at this restaurant, that supposedly had good food." Sophia cringed her face and said "I had no idea what people were thinking, the food there was terrible, some were to salty, others were to bitter, some of them were burnt and the others didn't have an flavor to it."

"Stephano was disgusted with the food and went, really angry, into the kitchen and started to insult the headchef about the food in Italian." And she giggled "hey that chef had it coming for that monstrosity of food they served us." Stephano said suddenly coming to our table and sitting next to Sophia. "Just cuz someone dresses like a chef doesn't make them one, and besides even the other chefs didn't like what they were making either, cuz he never tasted it." He said, chuckling at that.

"And what happened next?" Drake said, excited. He looked like a little kid excited for a surprise he might get. "He said that his food was one of a kind and that we're lucky that we tasted a masterpiece like that. Pulise, it tasted like someone put a dead animal and mixed it with sweat socks and rotten leftovers. I complained to the owner of the restaurant and said that he never once had a complaint about the headchef or his food before and then that pathetic excuse for a 'gourmet' chef came and said that because no one had any problems with his food, cuz he was a good chef, or perhaps he bribed people into saying his food was good, so that the manager could keep paying him." He had to stop, because one of the waiters came saying that there was a call for him. "I'll be right back, Sophia can continue for me, cuz she was there when I went to complain the the manager." He said, standing up and left.

"Ok, so the chef told him that if he was such an expert in how food should tasted, that he challenge Stephano to a cook off. At first he was hesitant, but I incoureged him to try and finally excepted the challenge. They were going to make an Italian style dish for a family, who they said will be the judge of how the food tasted." She paused to take a final bit of her salad and continued. "Stephano was contributing a lot into making this dish, that he was actually enjoying himself in preparing it, like he loved cooking, but the other chef looked like he was struggling." She giggled at that.

"Once they were both done, two waitresses took the dishes in trays and went to a family that had two little kids. They looked excited and one of the kids said that he was a food judge person, I guess they already told them about the challenge. The first dish they put was the one the other chef made, it looked nice at first and kinda looked edible, he looked proud of himself for his 'masterpiece',until the family took a bit out of it and their faces cringed and spitted out and the little girl said it tasted like garbage." And she laughed, making us laugh to, just thinking about it "he frowned after that comment. Then it was Stephanos turn and the waiters put the dish, that was a delicious lasagna with bread sticks and and tomato sauce. At first the family was a bit hesitant, until the little boy grabbed his spoon, cut the lasagna and took the piece to his mouth."

"He chewed it slowly with a worried face, but then it changed to one of surprised and delight. The rest of his family took a bit and made the same face expression like the little boys and kept eating, until they finished it and said that it was the best thing they ever had. Stephano was glad that they liked what he made and it made him smile for the first time." She said smiling. "And what happened to the headchef? What did the owner do to him?" Jane asked curious. "He had a little hissyfit and got fired, then he gave Stephano the job of headchef and he accepted it of course, I guess he really liked making food for people, cuz he liked seeing the faces they make when they try it and he started to love living again. He got better for a long time and one time he called me saying that he wanted to open his own restaurant and he wanted me to help him with how it will look and stuff and I agreed, cuz he was excited to be able to own his own little family restaurant."

"I asked him if he wanted to make it a few minutes from the pack and said it was a good idea, but he needed someone to help him promote his restaurant, so we looked online and saw an ad about  a woman who does this things for a living." She said as she suddenly smiled widely. I wonder what she's remembering.

Drakes POV

What Sophia was telling about the owner of the restaurant, Stephano, was actually kinda sad and happy at the same time and when she told us about how she was helping him out with the things that happened to him, before moving to the USA, was the most amazing thing a person would do for another. "So what happened next that is getting you all happy?" I asked. I must sound like a girl who is excited to see what happens next on her favorite dramatic romance series. "Well we contacted and it turns out she was his second chance mate and she is also a mermaid." She said happily.

No way! He found his second chance mate with out even knowing it "she's really sweet and kind and she already loved Stephano when she first met him, but he was hesitant and anxious. I honestly didn't know why actually then when she wanted to get to know him better he just step away or some times hide. I asked him why he was acting strange around her, until he said that he was scared that she might reject him for being who he is like his ex-mate and parents." She said. Man, he must of had it really bad for him to be scared of having a second chance mate.

'We must make sure we have mate love us. She is ours and we are hers now and no one will change that.' Brock said determined to accomplish it. 'And we will bud, don't worry.' I said it more to me then him 'you better' he said and blocked me. "Well what happened after he told you that?" Jane asked, making me look back to Sophia to hear what she has to say. "Well, I told him to just give her a chance, you know, to see if she was different then his ex and so he did. He asked her out on a small date, which was a cute little picnic in one of my favorite places to go and is a secret, so I'm not saying where it is." She said sticking her tongue out playful, which was adorable by the way. "And it turns out that she was also rejected by her mate to and then she was heart broken to until she decided to move on with the help of her parents and became who she is now and had a lot of things in come... almost. They were like this for about a month or two until they officially started dating, while doing some work for his restaurant." She paused for a sec, to take a sip of her water.

"She is a really nice person and a hard worker like Stephano. One time he introduced me to her and she looked jealous at me, cuz I was close to his. She told me to stay away from him and to stop trying to steal him from her." She giggled at that "but I explained to her the reason why Stephano and I are close friends and she understood it. I was the only friend he had in this country to ever have his back when something's were ruff and he had mine. So me and her became close friends to."

"They were so happy together and her parents liked Stephano a lot, cuz he is a good man and a good mate to Maria, that's his mates name by the way, and I got to visit them to when ever the invited me and let me tell you that they are really nice people and didn't judge me for what I am." She said softly with a small smile on her face. "They were both happy, until a year ago, when it started to go bad." What! Something happened to them!? Did she reject him or she disappeared or she died what. "Wait you never told us that something happened to Stephano and his mate last year Sophi. What happened?" Daphne said with the others nodding their heads slowly in agreement. 'Wait, she never told her sisters about it? I wonder why?' I thought to myself, until she answered my question "cuz I didn't want you guys to get stressed about it and I also didn't want you guys to leave the things you four love doing for something like this. So can I continue with what I'm saying, so you guys can find out what happened last year...please." She said and we all nodded.

"Ok, so I was going to visit Stephano and Maria in the house they are sharing. Once I got there, I saw three people outside their house, two females and one male. I got close to them and asked why they were on our territory and guess what one of the females told me?" She said. We stayed quiet, cuz we probably now the answer to that question "she said that it was none of my business, so I passed them and knocked on the door, then I heard someone coming down the stairs to open the door. Maria opened it and gave me a smile, until she looked at the others with a confusing look."

"The male wolf asked her if Stephano was home and she called for him to come down. I looked back at them and saw one of the she-wolves looking at Maria like she wanted to kill her. A few minutes passed and Stephano came down putting on his chef uniform to go to his restaurant. He looked at the people that were behind me and he frozed, shocked, at them. I asked him if he nows them and he slowly nodded his head and said that it was his parents and his ex." She said and we stared at her shocked.

"The she-wolf, which was his ex, started to fake cry, saying that she still loved him and went to him pushing me a bit to hard making me hit my head on the porch. He saw it and got pissed off, while Maria came to see if I was ok. He told her not to touch him and to apologize for pushing me. His parents were shocked at seeing him defend me and pushing away his 'mate', cuz it looked like they still thought that he didn't accept her rejection, which he did, and she just laughed saying why would she apologize to a runt like me. She obviously thought that he was joking and went to kiss him, but he side stepped her and came to me and Maria and helped me up on my feet. He brought me inside his house, so he could treat my head and Maria went for their first aid kit they keep in the kitchen."

"Mandy, that was her name said why did he care if I was hurt or not and why Maria was in his house when she was his 'mate', while his parents came to her side and agreed to what she said and his dad started to lecture him of how disrespectful he was being to them and that he should worry more of how Mandy and they were feeling after he ran away to America, until he finally snapped and started to yell at them."

"He said that, Mandy was no longer his mate but Maria and that they shouldn't even think about telling him that his being 'disrespectful' to them when they were no longer his parents after they disowned him. He started to yell at them to get out of his house and to never look for him again. Once they left, he slammed the door closed and turned to me and Maria. He had tears of anger and sadness in his eyes, it looked like he was fighting for them not to fall, but he broke down and started to cry. Maria went and hugged him, trying to calm him down and I was crying to, at how they said those things of him being happy with his own life and new mate." She said sadly with tears in her eyes. She whipped them away and breathed calmly, until she calmed down and continued.

"I left after that, to give them some space, and went for a walk to the park, to clear my head a bit, until i saw his parents sitting on a bench, close to the woods. I saw that his mom was crying and his dad was trying to calm her down. I got a bit closer to them and heard that his mom was saying that her son never wanted to see them again and that he hates them for what they did to him and it looked like his dad was about to cry to. I felt bad for them and went to talk with them."

"At first they were mean, but I told them that maybe I could help them talk to Stephano. They were hesitant at first and then they agreed that we'd go to eat at his restaurant." "And what she did next is why I will always be grateful to her and to have her back as a friend for the rest of my life." Stephano said walking to our table, with a woman next to him. "Maria!!" Sophi said, getting up to go and hug her. "Hey there, Sophia how have you been?" The woman, who is the mermaid Maria, said "same as always." Sophi said sadly. "I was just telling my sisters and Ambers friends about who Stephano came to be the person he is today and how you to met...and also I told them the part where you were jealous of me, cuz I'm his friend who is a girl and a miner." She said sheepishly, with a small smile and a small blush "hey I said I was sorry for thinking that you were going to steal him from me." Stephanos mate said blushing a deep red.

Sophia laughed at her, which made Maria glare playful at her and started to laugh to. I looked at my mate and saw that she was smiling softly with a look of awe at her little sister. I guess seeing Sophia be joyful and smiling, instead of being scared and with tears in her eyes, makes her happy.

Sophia came back to the table, with Stephano and Maria grabbing other seats and sitting next to her. "So, do you guys, and girls, want Sophia to keep telling you what happened with my parents, when she decided to be a little sneaky and not tell me that she was bringing them to my restaurant." He said glaring playful at Sophia, making her smile sheepishly. "Yes please" we all said in unison. "Ok, well I told them to meet me in the parking lot of his restaurant at 6 pm. Once there I said that it will see him later, cuz I wanted to know why they disowned him and never came looking for him before. They were hesitant at first, once we were seated at a table, and they agreed to it if I told them how he was doing and how he became owner of a now famous restaurant. I told them everything about how he tried to kill himself, to were he is now with his new mate."

"His parents were looking terrible by the time I finished, but also proud of him for who he is today. Then they told me the reason why they did what they did to him, turns out, Mandy never wanted him to be her mate, cuz he lacked 'muscle' and 'money' and that he was weak thinking that she would be able to get rid of him, if his parents made him leave, so she could find someone else with what she was looking for in a mate. So she told them that if they don't disowned him and make him leave then she would order some warriors to kill him, so that's what they did."

"Once he left his old pack, they were devastated at what they had done, but they did it to save him from being killed. After a year of him gone, his ex-mate hadn't found a mate with money nor muscles and she still felt the 'bond' she had with him, cuz she found out that he was still alive and not dead like she wanted to, which is so cruel if you ask me, but his parents were still trying to move on, but they never could. They wanted to know if he was ok, but they were scared that Mandy would find him and have him killed for being a 'nu sins' to her. Once his mom was looking at some home design tutorials and an ad for Stephanos restaurant came to view, she was happy that he was ok and went to show his dad, but Mandy was in their house, and started to threaten them into telling her where he was, until she saw the ad that his mother was going to show to his father."

"They came to the US, in her 'private plane', and went to Montana looking for him and well you know the rest. When Stephano kicked them out and the left our territory, Mandy was furious for what happened and told them that it was their fault for raising such a pathetic child and that they were no longer pack members of the Blood Moon pack (Stephanos old pack) and left them there stranded. I was honestly crying when the finished, but I understood everything, they were just trying to protect him from an evil woman who only wanted money. Once we were done with the food, we got up and I motioned them to follow me to his office. When we got there I knocked on his door, gently, and opened it to see that he was busy with some paperwork." She paused and looked at Stephano with a sad smile and he continued for her "once I looked uo from what I was doing, I saw Sophia, with my parents inside my office and got mad at her for bringing them here, but she told me calmly that they wanted to tell me something, I couldn't stay mad at her after everything thing she did and she always has a good reason for the things she does." He said smililng softly at her. "I agreed on them telling me what they wanted and she left after that and they told me everything they told her and my mother started to cry, while my father was holding back the tears I also, finally understood why they disowned me, and to be honest I missed them as well. There my parents, they gave what they could for me to have a happy life, so I never found a reason for what they did."

"After our little family reunion, we went outside to see Sophia talking to one of the female waitresses. She turned to us smiling and walked a bit to us. Once she was a few inches, I went to her and gave her a hug, thanking her for everything she did, for my dream of becoming an owner of my own restaurant, for helping me find a mate, that is wonderful and for helping me reunit with my parents." He said, hugging Sophia with one arm and holding his mates hand in the other. Jane, Amber and the others were crying and I was trying to hold back my tears and failing.

She did so much for this man, who suffered so much and she never asked anything in return, she just did it, cuz she knew it was the right thing to do. She wanted to help him and she did, with patience and kindness. 'She really is a special person isn't she." I said to Brock and he whimpered in agreement 'I still don't know why people in her pack and Stacey treat her like she's no good, cuz she's a runt. But they don't know what an innocent and kind girl she is. No wonder Amber and her sisters are protective and caring to her, she's always there to help.' Brock said sadly.

 I looked over to Amber, to see that she saw me looking at Sophia with adoration and gave me a small smile. 

I think well work out eventually. I'll just have to wait.
