Chapter 9

Ambers POV

Sophia and Drake came back a few minutes later, with snacks. I wonder what took them so long, did he.. 'No, don't think like that. He knows that little sister is not that tip of girl and we saw how he treats her. So don't think that he forced her to do something she's waiting to do, when she finds her mate.' Aurora said. Upset at what I was thinking 'yeah Amby, and don't start thinking like the others about Sophi, you know she isn't like Stacey. She is more pure hearted and innocent, who never hurted anybody.' Midnight added.

'Yeah, you two are right, I shouldn't think like that about my own little sister, who is nothing, but kind and helpful.' I said to them. "Hey what took you two so long?" Jane asked looking at them up and down "I needed some help with something, so I asked Sophia for help and after that we went to the kitchen for some snacks." Drake said shrugging.

I was a bit suspicious, until Sophia confirmed it and I relaxed a bit. We went back to working on the project, when I felt the weird sensation that we were being watched. I looked out through Sophias window, but saw nothing, except a pretty little light blue butterfly, that looked like it was shining.

A few hours later, we finished with making the landscape, for where the temple and other things will be, and we went to go down stairs for supper, until Drake pulled me to the side and said "hey Amber, I was uhh, wondering if you want to go and eat somewhere with me?" I looked at him shocked, 'is he asking me out on a date?' I asked myself "I mean if you want to, of course, I don't want to force you into anything you don't want to just..." He said nervously.

He looked so cute, when he looks nervous, and him lose for words is even cuter. 'Accept his offer!!' Midnight and Aurora said in unison. "Sure, why not." I said giving him a grin. He looked a bit surprised, but then he smiled and said "really!! That's great should I go change into something casual or.." "Wait, your taking me out now?" I asked shocked that he wanted to go out now. "If you want we could go tomorrow.." I cut him off saying "No, no, its just a bit of a surprise that you want to go now. Uhh, I'll go and get ready." I said and went to my room to change.

I was ready for my date tonight and I was a bit nervous. I am wearing a blue long sleeved crop top with an image of a pretty galactic rose on it, some dark blue skinny jeans and a pair of white short heel boots. I had my hair lose in curls and put some pink lipstick and some mascara and was ready to go.

Once I got to the door, I opened it to see Stacey trying to make a move on Drake, while Sophia was hiding behind him "come on Drake, why do you care so much about that runt anyway, she is nothing but a pathetic little pest, who isn't even worth looking at. Besides we could go somewhere and have fun like old times." She said swaying herself to Drake, who was stepping back, while pushing Sophia, a bit more, behind him.

I cleared my throat and the three of them looked at me. Sophia and Drake gave a sigh of relief, while Stacey was giving me the stink eye, but I wasn't paying her much attention, cuz I was looking at how Drake was trying to protect my baby sister from her.

"Hey Amber ready to go?" He asked, coming to me, with Sophia behind him. I nodded, smiling at him and heard that Stacey left, stomping frustrated. I looked to see Sophi still a bit shaken, maybe "Sophi, do you want to come with us?" He said winking at her and her eyes shined amused and said "y-yes please". She was so adorable, but I wonder what those two were planning. I shrugged it off, probably nothing, besides it would be best if she came with us.

My sisters are probably busy with their own stuff and I don't want to leave her alone with the she-devil staying here, until Brittneys and Daphne's birthday in two days. Goddess knows, what that s**t will do to her. We desended the stairs to go to the door, when I heard someone call to us and it was Nathan. Sophi ran behind me and I stood in a defensive stance "hey Amber can I talk to you, its important." He said with an excited gleam in is eyes "sorry, can't and don't want to talk to you. I'm going out with Drake and Sophia somewhere, that doesn't have you there." I said to him, with disgust and left, with Sophia holding on to my arm for comfort and Drake behind me 'are you sure that you'll have a good time with both of them.' Nathan said through the mind link, but I ignored him and kept walking, until we got outside and to my car.

Drake was driving this time, cuz we were going somewhere special and him and Sophi didn't tell me. 'Why does Sophia know where we're going, but not us?' Midnight said a bit suspicious, but relaxed when we arrived and it was Stephanos family restaurant. 'Oh so that's why she knew about our destination, cuz she helped Drake to find a perfect place.' Aurora said.

We got out of the car and headed inside and was greeted by Stephano who was waiting for us "Aaah there you are, I thought you three had forgotten about me" he said fake hurt and Sophia went to give him a sisterly hug, which he returned. "No we just got caught up with something but we're here now" I said still remembering what Nathan said earlier 'why are you thinking about what that asshole said, he hurts Sophia Amby and what he said might be a trick to make us think that baby sister is bad.' Aurora said angry and upset about that.

'She's right Amber, Nathan was always trying to make Sophia look bad to us even when you were little and also Drake hasn't shown any romantic interest in Sophia. He's starting to see how she really is.' Midnight said, agreeing with Aurora. Their right, Nathan has always tried to make me hate Sophia, but he never accomplished it, cuz she always proves him wrong with all the things she does for the pack and our sisters that it was always hard to believe in his lies.

And when I see Drake with her. They barely know each other, heck, I just met him a few days ago and he already treats Sophia like his own little sister and to top it all off, my baby sister trusts him, even if he was a man w**e, she thinks differently about him and trusts him, and believe me she has trouble trusting people, with how things are in the pack.

"Well inof delay, come I have a table ready for you two inside." Stephano said bringing me out of my thoughts and motioned for us to follow him. Once inside we followed him to a private area and there was a table for two, with a romantic touch to it, that I was simply in awe with it. "Well, I'll leave you two alone then." Sophia said and was about to leave, when I said "wait, your not joining us?" "Nah, besides its your date. I don't want to ruin it for you, plus Stephano said he needed help, something about how he wants to remodel the restaurant to something more natural." She said and left.

"She'll be fine, besides Stephano is her friend, he'll take care of her." Drake said confident about Sophia and it made me relax, cuz he was right, Stephano proved himself that he is trust worthy about her safety and well being. We went to our table and Drake, being a gentleman, pulled my chair for me to sit in and I thanked him for it, while he went to his chair.

We ordered some appetizers first and and after finishing it, I ordered a salad, while he ordered stack with mashed potatoes and he ordered us wine. "You look beautiful, you know." He complimented, which took me by surprise. I looked at his eyes and saw that he was looking at me with adoration and love? I blushed and looked away and said "uhh th-thanks, I guess" he chuckled and went on "and you are also a passionate, caring and strong person, who doesn't take s**t from anyone, which I think is hot, and your also concerned for your little sis, who is an innocent soul." He said softly and with so much honesty that I blushed a deeper red with all the beautiful things he said to me.

"Amber" he said pausing for a bit, while biting his lips 'Man I want to feel them on mine' I thought, but shook my head 'what am I thinking?' "Listen, I know we just met a few days ago and we still don't know each other yet, but I think that we belong to each other and I want to be with you and to know you even more." He took a deep breath and grabbed my hand in his and said something that had me speechless "what I'm trying to say is, Amber...will you be my girlfriend."

I was dumbfounded, I mean he asked me to be his girlfriend and I barely know him, other then the fact that his going to be future alpha king and that he was a man w**e, but still I was not prepared for this. 'Accept mate!! Mate loves us and wants to be with us!!!' Author said jumping up and down happy, while Midnight was injoining what was happening.

I was hesitant at first, about somethings and said "but, aren't you dating Stacey and plus aren't you friends with Nathan and Zack. I don't know about this Drake." He frowned and said "what Stacey and I had was over, of course I wanted her to be my luna, but that was before I met you and finally get that I never wanted her at all. And about Nathan and Zack, they aren't my friends anymore, after I found out that the girl they were saying horrible things to was your little sister, they became strangers to me." He said, still holding my hand.

I was still not sure about this and asked "what if they find out about us being mates. Stacey will try to hurt Sophia or do something worse to her if she finds out." I said getting nervous, but relax, when he was rubbing my hand for comfort. "Don't worry we'll tell them and everyone else at a day I thought would be good to anounce that you and I are mates." He said.

"And that day would be?" I asked a bit curious. "My Birthday! Almost every pack of the werewolf kingdom will be there, so when I thank everyone for coming, that is where I'll announce you as my queen and mate." He said. That actually was a good idea and the look on Staceys face when she finds out will be priceless. "Ok I'm actually looking forward to it." I said chuckling a bit. He smiled softly and said "so, what do you say? Will you be my girlfriend Amber?" I thought it over again, but sighed and said "ok, I'll be your girlfriend Drake." And then I blushed, when he smiled satisfied with my answer and did something I was not expecting. He kissed me! At first I was shocked, but gave in, cuz this was a really nice feeling. He kissed me softly and gently and then pulled away, so we could both catch our breaths and he put his forehead on mine.

I guess this will work out after all.

Drakes POV

I kissed her! I actually kissed her and she let me. This is the happiest day of my life and she accepted to be my girlfriend. 'I can't wait for our birthday, so we could finally claim her as our mate!' Brock said impatient 'calm down there bud, remember what Sophia said, we need to take things slow and to not pressure Amber. We need her to accept us willingly.' I said trying to calm him down, which worked. "So when is your birthday anyway?" Amber asked bringing me out of thought. 'Darnit I was caught up with the whole thing I forgot to tell her the day of my birthday.' I thought to myself.

"Aah, it's next month on the 13th of August." I said, which she stiffened a bit. I was confused by the sudden change of emotion from her and it had me a bit concerned." Is something wrong?" I asked a little worried that I said something wrong to make her upset. "No! Its just that..." She paused for a bit and sighed sadly "its just that, Sophias birthday is on that day two and its when she'll finally shift. Me and my sisters were going to celebrate it with her and be there for when she shifts for the first time, cuz I doubt any one will, but it was supposed to  be something special for her." She said sadly.

I mouth an 'o', cuz now I know the reason for her sudden change in mood. Her little sisters birthday was the same day as mine and what I've seen in her pack and how they treat Sophia, it looks like Amber, Willow, Brittney and Daphne were the only ones to celebrate it with her and seeing is how my parents will probably invite her pack to the palace, I guess she won't have anyone to celebrate with.

I thought a bit, about it and thought of an idea "hey, why don't we still celebrate Sophia's birthday at my place, when the others are busy with the party that my parents will host? We could have it in the palace garden, cuz it looks like she really likes nature alot, have some cake give her gifts and we will all be there for her when she shifts." I said softly. She gave me a gently smile and said "you'd really do that for her?" I returned the smile "yeah, she's just like everyone else, isn't she? She deserves celebrate her birthday to." I said honestly, Sophia IS just like everyone else and probably better, for how she sees the world. Amber gave me a sad smile and thanked me for being nice to Sophia.

We finished our meal and got up to get Sophia, so we could leave, until we heard screams in the restaurant. We went to see what was happening and saw that we were being attached by rouges, both vampires and wolves. We heard Stephano come and was already in his wolf form. His wolf was a light brown with a black spot on his left eye.

I was going to shift to when I heard Amber say that she was going to go check on Sophia. "Are you crazy! You'll get hurt." I said anxious that she was going alone "but if I don't go, then who will protect her! She still can't shift and she can barely defend herself." She said with tears in her eyes. She's really scared for Sophia, so I said "then I'll come with you." She nodded and we went to Stephanos office.

Once we got there, we saw that some of the security were fighting a couple of vampires, who were trying to get to the office. I shifted into my wolf, that was a chocolate brown and Amber shifted into hers. Her wolf was beautiful, it was a midnight blue color with small white spots that make it look like she was covered with stars. She went and attacked a vampire, that was going for the office door and ripped his head off his body, while I went for the one that was going to attack from behind. We were caught up with the fight that we didn't realize that what they were doing was to distract us, cuz we heard the door to the office break down and heard Sophia scream.

Me and Amber finished off the two remaining vampires and went running to the office, only to see that Sophia was being dragged out into the hallway by a vampire and two wolves were blocking our way. We saw that she was trying to break free from the vampire's grip and shouting for him to let go, but in vain, as the rouge vampire kept dragging her out the back door. Me and Amber attacked the two rouge wolves that were infront of us and finished them off quickly and chase after the vampire that had Sophia.

He started to run, with his vampire speed, to lose us and heard Sophia cry for help. Amber whimpered and ran after him, with me behind. We were losing them and Amber was getting tired, so she stopped to catch her breath and whimpered while doing so. I stopped next to her and nuzzled my snout with hers, trying to comfort her. We started to run again, in hopes of following were they went, but once we reach a small opening, we saw that the vampire was killed by a guy with a mask on and a hoodie and Sophia behind him crying.

Amber growled at him, but soon stopped when Sophia came running to her and hugged her, crying in fear of what happened. I looked back at the guy who saved Sophia, but he was gone in an instant. I didn't get a good look at him besides the mask and hoodie, but I did see that his arms were some what strange.

I looked back to Amber and saw that she already shifted to her human form and was holding Sophia tight, while sobbing relieved that she was ok. I was relieved to, but wondered why that vampire took her. I went to a tree and shifted back into my human form, but then I realized that my clothes ripped when I shifted into my wolf and I didn't have a spear, until I looked down and saw a pair of boxers, sweat pants and a shirt next to me and I quickly put them on.

I guess Sophia passed out, once we went back to the car and drove back to Moon Shine. Stephano followed us to, cuz he wanted to see if Sophia was alright as well. Amber drove to a small clinic and asked if I could carry Sophia inside, which I did willingly. Amber called for a pack doctor to come and check on Sophi, who was still passed out in my arms. They all looked at her a bit and looked the other way, like she wasn't in my arms out cold.

But thankful one doctor came and glared at the others, before turning to us and gave a look of concern to Sophia, like real concern, not like the others. "Its nice to see you and Sophia again, but let's take her to my office, away from this idiots" he said in a low voice, but loud inof for some of the pack doctors and nurses to hear and gave him a glare. We followed the pack doctor to his office, which was nice and told me to lay Sophia on the sofa.

He made sure and check twice, to see that she doesn't have any injuries, before coming to us with a worried expression. "She's fine, but it looked like she had a panic attack, again. Amber would you mind telling me what happened that caused it?" He asked "we went to eat at Stephanos restaurant and we took Sophi with us, cuz Stacey was harassing her and Drake. We were going to get her to come back, but then we were attacked by rouges, both wolf and vampires." Her voice was starting to shake remembering it.

"Me and Drake went running to Stephanos office to protect her, while he fought the ones that were in the dinning area. We were getting there, but than we saw that security was having trouble with some of them that were trying to get there before us, so  we shifted and attacked them, but it was a distraction." By then she started sobbing. I made her sit down and the doctor grabbed a glass of water for her, so I decided to finish for her "we heard the door beinging broken and we saw that a vampire was dragging Sophia out, kidnapping her. We chased him, but couldn't catch up, cuz he used his vampire speed, to try and lose us." I paused for a bit to stroke Ambers arm a bit, to comfort her, cuz she started to sob again.

"We almost lost her." She said and got a bit more closer to me, crying, while I hugged her tight to calm her down. "But, how did you two make it on time to get her back?" The doctor said. I was still not sure if I should tell him if Amber doesn't want to, but when I looked at her she nodded and I told him "actually we didn't even do anything once we caught up, cuz someone already beat us to them." I said and the doctor looked confused at first until I continued "we saw that a person already saved her and killed the vampire before he got the chance to escape, but we don't know who he was, cuz he was wearing a wolf mask and a gray hoodie." I said.

He looked shocked at first, but asked "does anyone know about it other then yourself?" We shook our heads and he nodded slowly "good, it's best if we keep this information to ourselves, but you better tell this to Stephano, so that he can double security and whatnot at his restaurant for when Sophia is there. I'm not sure why, but what you told me was that the rouges were after her, I don't know why, but it's best if you'd take precaution of her and make sure she isn't alone anywhere near the woods, so this doesn't happen again." He said.

Me and Amber were shocked at what he said. The rouges were after Sophia? But what for? This is a bit confusing, but we heeded his advice, cuz who knows when they'll attack and try to take her again. We left the clinic afterwards, I was carrying Sophia in my arms and got in the car and Amber drove us back to the pack house. Once there, we were being in a tight hug from my parents, Ambers and Sophias dad and sisters. "Thank the Moon Goddess you three are here!" My mom said relieved. "We got a call from Stephano, that the restaurant was attack and we thought the worse happened to you, but I see that you to and Sophia are ok." Ambers dad said, but he sounded off when he mentioned Sophias name, which was weird. "What happened over there? And what happened to Sophia?" Willow asked worried.

I looked at Amber, who had a concerned expression, looking the other way. 'I guess she doesn't want to talk about it and I remember what the doctor said, but maybe telling them can help, make sure Sophia is safe. I have Amber an encouraging smile and said "we'll tell you later, right now we need to take Sophia to her room to rest. She had a more terrifying experience than us." They nodded and we went inside the pack house. I went upstairs to Sophias room and opened the door, only to find it looked. "Oh sorry about that, I locked her door so no one can go in and trash her room like last time." Willow said behind me, making me jump in surprise and look at her.

She went passed me, to unlock the door and opened it. I went to Sophias bed and laid her head on the pillows and covered her with the blanket. She rolled on her side and she looked like a little kid. I went to the door where Willow is standing at, once I got next to her I asked "can you stay with her? Just to make sure no one gets in while she's sleeping." She looked shocked at my request, but agreed, cuz she knows the pack members all to well and went inside and looked the door behind her.

I went to find the others, until I smelled my mates scent and followed it to alpha Aarons office. I knocked and went in, to see my parents, my dads Beta (Mike), Amber, Alpha Aaron and his beta (Henry).

 'This might get interesting.' Brock said 'it sure will.'
