I do not even think twice before I scurry over to her. Her hand grasps onto the strap of her bag that is hanging loosely over her shoulder as she stares at me with what I can only describe as a weird look.
"Hey. I thought you were taking the whole day off." I use my sweet voice, therapist type of voice and it does not seem to move her or change her face at all.. I see her eyes move and whatever has caught her interest is behind me.
I turn around and confirm my exact suspicion. She is looking at Kaden, and I know she is going to say something about it.
"Why does he look at you like that? What is actually happening between you two?" she crosses her arms and I just freeze. Everything freezes. My mind, my body, the words that were right at my throat before she brought that up.
