She nods her head and only a single slap lands on my face before she door is pushed open.

All our heads turn to the direction of the noise and it is Alpha Bale. He is looking at us with a shocked face as he puts some documents down

“ Estella, what is this?!” she rushes to us and Chantel steps away while the wife keeps me bound.

“Let her go! Since when is this your responsibility? This is you greatly undermining my power. Why is Auri-Aurelia here?” he sounds furious and Estella lets me go before he helps me up onto my feet.

My knees hurt from being in the position for so long, but I do not forget to give Alpha Bale a soft appreciative smile.

“she stole my necklace! How could you assign her our room?” he looks confused but he just shakes his head and walks out with me.

We are silent as he walks all the way up to his office and closes the door behind us.

“Are you okay?” he questions and I just nod.

No, I am not. I want to kill someone and you need to get away or it might just be you!

“No… You do not look okay. Goodness! I don’t know why they did that.” He sounds defeated as he gives me a chair to sit on and lowers himself to his knees so he can get a good check.

“that is bad.” He exclaims before tapping on my cheeks lightly.

I shriek immediately and that alarms him.

“I am sorry, I did not mean to hurt you.” I finally look down at him and our eyes lock. His face looks weird but before I pin point exactly what he could be thinking he looks away and takes a seat on the other side of his desk.

“You don’t have to go to school today. Stay in today and tomorrow. But let me take you to a doctor today.” He offers and I frown with my head lowered before I relax my face to look at him.

“No… That won’t be necessary. I am just swollen.. I should be fine.” I assure him and he just shakes his head as he grabs his office phone.

“No you are not just swollen! Your lip is… bleeding.” He seems to be staring at my lips for so long, I begin to fear they might be ruined for good.

“please don’t call anyone for me. I just want to be alone.” I confess and he drops the line after my face pleads with him for a few more seconds.

“But do you promise me you are okay?” he rushes to get on his knees again and grabs my hand, interlacing our fingers.

“Yes, I promise. Once I get to my room.” I give him the last fake smile that I will be able to manage.

I feel so much resentment, I could chop a whole forest down with the amount of negative energy coursing through my veins.

“sure.. I will let you go. But I will have someone send some good food to you!” he insists and I nod. And word a dead looking and very much sounding “thanks” before letting the wheels drive the chair away from him so I can get up.

I shut the door and begin racing to get to my room.

He surprises me sometimes.. He truly does not know me. He used to be one of the people that make my life hell, and then all of a sudden I was like a daughter to him.

Change does not happen just like that, and if it is his guilty conscience driving him to act like we can be all buddy-buddy, I am only letting him rest for now, while I actually need a companion in the house. The minute I am able to make it back to my people, meet the rest of my family and get the chance to start over, he will pay… Dearly! And he will know that I was never falling for his little desperate antics.

I dose off easily for the rest of the afternoon and as soon as I wake up, my face hurts even worse.

“Is she awake?” I hear squeals and I realize that get again, my dream man did not pay me a visit.. I actually needed him more than I ever have in a while. I did shed a few tears before reminding myself that they do not deserve my misery.

Easier said than done, especially since Colton has apparently broken up with me!

“Aurie! You have to get up!” I knit my brows together when I see Ava.

What is she doing in here?

“sit up! Sit up, girl!” Ellie urges me as Mrs grumpy in the morning sits on my feet, not even realising it until I pull them away.

“ooh.. Your face looks so plump today. Morning face?” Ellie brushes my skin and I jerk my head away.

That is all they can say? Do they even know what my regular face looks like? Sleep cannot be that powerful!

“Anyway… You will not believe it! This final year is not ending without a bang! There is a new hot guy at school!” Ellie sequels as she fans her face and I recall the amount of times I have seen her do that, only to get disappointed when the time to make my own judgement came.

“Stop lying! You were too mesmerised to hear anything! He is here to do live inspection of our classes. Basically to assess the quality of our education system.” Ava explains and Ellie frowns.

“what does it matter? He is here is all that matters?!” she giggles and Ava shakes her head.

Oh my god, is that the reason she is in here today?

“It matters, because the inspections only last two weeks at most. He will be gone soon. If he were a newbie though, things would be a lot better!” Ava bursts both their bubbles and I am speechless.

“Why haven’t you said anything?” Claire pinches my legs and I kick her hand hard to get her to stop.

“Is he a wolf?” there… I said something!

“Oh gosh! Of course he is. Please do not start!” Ellie rolls her eyes and I shake my head.

“This is not me starting anything. You have always known where I stand. The only wolf I will ever love is you, Ava. The end.” I grab my blankets and Bury my face.

They did not even bother asking how I ended up missing school.

Their ability to lose their s**t over a guy, it is nonsensical! And this is why I am determined to be single and unbothered!
