Venus pOv When I entered the classroom, I unintentionally slammed the door open, causing everyone to stare at me. I felt embarrassed and checked if I had grown an extra head, but thankfully, I didn't. Our professor, Ms. Dimagiba, glared at me, her makeup resembling a clown's. "Ms. Sarvantes, why are you late? And not just late, but 30 minutes late," she said sternly. I apologized, explaining that something unexpected happened, but inside, I was terrified of her clown-like appearance. She yelled at me, and I shouted back, "Monster! Monster Clown!" The class erupted in laughter, and Ms. Dimagiba's face turned red with anger. "Ms. Sarvantes, get out!" she shouted. I quickly left the classroom, hearing my classmates cheering and chanting my name. I checked the time and saw I had to wait for an hour and a half. I went to the canteen, which was almost empty since it was class hour. I bought a cheesecake and Zesto mango and sat near the window. Suddenly, my friends Zhia and Zyla called out to me and sat beside me. We chatted, and they told me they didn't have a class because their professor was absent. I explained my situation, and they teased me about lying. Just then, my cousin Lexi appeared, calling out my name in a menacing tone. I greeted her, trying not to show my nervousness. She asked me what happened, and I explained that I got kicked out of class because I was scared of Ms. Dimagiba's clown-like appearance. Lexi's expression softened, and she told me that Ms. Dimagiba wanted to see me. After Lexi left, Zhia and Zyla commented on how much my cousin cares about me. I finished my snack and headed to the office to meet with Ms. Dimagiba. She scolded me, expressing her disappointment and threatening to fail me if I didn't behave. I apologized and begged for another chance. She agreed but gave me a punishment: I had to meet with Ms. Athena Samantha Saavedra, the owner of a company, and convince her to be the guest speaker for our graduation. I was terrified, but I agreed. Ms. Dimagiba warned me not to tell anyone about our conversation and told me to find Ms. Saavedra on my own. After leaving the office, I searched for Ms. Saavedra's company online and found that she was the owner of a corporation. I couldn't find any pictures of her, and I jokingly thought she might be ugly. My cousin Lexi caught me searching and teased me, asking what I was doing. I lied, saying it was for an assignment. When Lexi asked about my punishment, I denied it, saying I was just being punished to clean. Lexi looked suspicious but didn't press the issue. I realized I had a mission to find Ms. Athena Samantha Saavedra and convince her to be our guest speaker. Luckily, tomorrow was Saturday, and I had no classes. I was determined to complete my mission. ---- I left the house at 6am to meet with Ms. Athena Samantha Saavedra, whom I needed to convince to be our guest speaker for graduation. Luckily, I'm smart and brought a map, feeling like a friend of Dora the Explorer. I hailed a jeepney and thanked the driver as I got off. I checked the map again and followed the directions, walking until I reached the AS Saavedra Corporation building. As I was about to enter, a guard blocked my way, and I looked up at him in confusion. "Teenagers aren't allowed to enter here," he said. I pleaded with him, explaining that I needed to see Ms. Saavedra before our meeting next Saturday, but he just shook his head. I pouted and sat down on the stairs near the entrance, watching as people passed by and looked at me curiously. After a while, a convoy of cars arrived, and people parted to let them through. A woman told me to move aside, saying that Ms. Saavedra was about to arrive. Suddenly, an idea struck me. I was taken aback by the beauty of the office and couldn't help but glance at Ms. Athena, whose presence seemed to make my heart beat faster again. Maybe I was developing a heart condition and should get checked out or ask my cousin about it. "Have a seat," she said, gesturing to the chair, and I nodded. As I sat down, I noticed a long, gold nameplate with her name engraved on it. "Is this pure gold?" I asked, touching it curiously. "Yes," she replied curtly and coldly. "I'm Venus Athlea, and I'll be meeting with you next Saturday to convince you to be our special guest for our graduation day," I said with a smile. She seemed taken aback and nodded. "And why are you here?" she asked, her piercing gaze making me look into her chocolate-brown eyes. My gaze drifted to her lips, and I felt an inexplicable urge to kiss her. Wait, kiss her? What was wrong with me? Suddenly, she burst out laughing. "Hahahahaha!" She stopped abruptly when she noticed my bewildered expression. "What were we talking about again?" she asked. "I came here to see what you look like since there's no picture of you online," I said, and she smiled briefly before her expression turned neutral. Dug! Dug! Dug! Why did I feel this way around her? Maybe I was getting sick because of her presence.
