Chapter Six

464 Words
Luke makes me an appointment with the doctors, and that is this morning, so when I woke up, I head straight to the doctors. "Love Windfall," a nurse with brown hair and eyes calls. She tells me this when we reach a room, "Luke called and told us that your throat is feeling like it's closing up. It's probably from stress, so your fine, Love." I smile and walk back to the car, then I go to the police to ask them about the events that happened on the night of April 19, 2017. The second I ask, one of the police officers scoffs and says I can look it up. I take a deep breath and type on my phone, "I did, sir. I was just hoping you had more information." The police officer glance over to his detective. "Nicole, you were there on the night of April 19, 2017. You know more, don't you?" Nicole nods, "I was there, yes." "Why do you want to learn about your parents' death that was two years ago?" I take a deep breath and type, "because I'm wanting answers. Maybe their death leads to my uncle choking all and me of this happening. They had never hated me before my parents death." The police officer is quiet, perhaps thinking about what to say. "Do you think that Rebecca was still upset after Amy was dead and want to make sure you were the same way," he suggests and I nod. Nicole takes a deep breath, "you might be right, Officer Goldenheart." I stop and look into the police officer's eyes. His eyes are light blue, just like mine and his hair is red, like mine. "If you could speak, you'd probably be yelling at me, Love. Luckily, you can't, now I will tell you everything that you want to know. I'll meet you at your house, at six tonight." I text Luke: We have company at six tonight. Luke: Who is it? Me: A man called Officer Goldenheart, but I have no clue who he is. He looks like me and says he'll give me answers to everything I wish to know. Luke: What should I do about Rose? Me: Take her to Jason's and Jasmine's. Luke: On it. I begin to head home when I got a text saying: Chinese is fine. Me: Who are you? Unknown: Wait until six tonight to ask questions. Me: Right. My hand flies to my throat which is closing up again. I squeeze my eyes shut and open them again then continue to head home. I arrive home to see Luke sitting at the table talking to the man, "oh hey, Love, I just meet your nice husband. I already told him I'll be answering questions at six."
