The café was noisy, but their corner was quiet. One year to the day since that first wrong call. David slid a coffee across the table to Ada. _“Latte, extra sugar. Just how you like it.”_ Ada smiled and took it. _“You remembered.”_ _“I remember everything about you,”_ David said. _“Even the way you said ‘wrong number’ that first night.”_ She laughed. _“I thought you were a scammer.”_ _“And I thought you were telemarketing,”_ he shot back. _“Look at us now.”_ Outside, Lagos traffic moved like normal. No black SUVs. No fear. Just life. David’s phone buzzed. Not unknown. Just Tunde. _Dinner at 7. Chika made jollof. Don’t come late._ Ada read it over his shoulder. _“See? Normal problems.”_ David reached across and held her hand. _“Best wrong number I ever answered.”_ Ada squeezed back. _“Best right person I ever met.”_ They sat there, drinking coffee, with nowhere to run and nothing to hide. For the first time in a long time, everything felt right. ---
