The man pulled out a chair and sat down like he owned the place.
David’s chest tightened. Ada’s hand found his under the table.
_"Who are you?"_ David asked. His voice came out rough.
The man took off his sunglasses. Early 30s. Scar on his jaw.
_"Name’s Tunde,"_ he said. _"And you two need to stop calling each other."_
Ada frowned. _"We didn't. It was a wrong number."_
_"Four times?"_ Tunde laughed, but there was no humor in it. _"Cute story."_
He leaned in. _"Look, this isn't about you. It's about the person who used to have this number before Ada."_
David blinked. _"What?"_
_"Two months ago,"_ Tunde said, _"this number belonged to my sister. Chika. She disappeared."_
He slid a photo across the table. A girl. Smiling. Looked a lot like Ada.
Ada gasped and covered her mouth.
_"The police said she ran away,"_ Tunde continued. _"But I know better. The last calls on her phone? All to this number. Your number, David."_
David’s stomach dropped. _"I’ve had this line for 3 years."_
_"Exactly,"_ Tunde said. _"So someone gave her your number. And now someone’s using her old SIM to call you. To warn you."_
The café went quiet.
_"Who?"_ Ada whispered.
Tunde looked at the door.
_"The same person who’s been following you since you got here,"_ he said softly.
David turned.
Outside the window, a black car was parked. Engine running.
And inside it, someone was watching them.
Tunde stood up. _"We need to go. Now."_
