All strangers

When I stood in front of the front gate of my house at nine o'clock the next morning and saw the medium-sized bus coming toward me, I was stunned. I had thought that there would only be four or five people. When I boarded the bus with my big backpack, I was surprised to find that there were nearly twenty people on the bus, but I didn't recognize anyone except Hannah. What surprised me even more was that there were only two girls in the bus. In other words, even with me, there were only three girls. When I got into the bus, the boys in the car looked at me. There was something strange about their gazes, something I couldn't quite put my finger on. My scalp tingled, and at that moment, standing in the doorway of the car, I had the urge to turn around and go home. “Close the door and drive.”Hannah suddenly blurted out to the driver. “Squeak,” The bus door closed tightly behind me. On the bus, a burst of laughter rang out. Then a couple of boys sitting in the back half of the bus whistled at me a couple of times. I must admit, for a moment, I was upset. Since when she has met so many new friends. Almost all her new friends are boys. And none of them, except for Luke, who was sitting in the seat next to her, but with his eyes burning, staring intently at me, were people I'd ever seen in town. It was so strange. These people must not be students at the high school in our town. I've heard that there's a school with a bad reputation a few miles away from our school, so maybe they're students from that school. The bus was already moving. Through the window, I saw my mom run out the front door, waving her arms at me and seemingly shouting something under her breath. “Please stop the car, my mom has something to tell me. I haven't said goodbye to her yet.” Luke laughed. “Jesus, Elara, you're eighteen, and you haven't weaned yourself yet?” “Hahaha.” The bus was filled with joyous laughter. The boys, along with Hannah, were laughing out loud. In the entire carriage, there were only two people who weren't laughing. It was me, and the other girl with short hair. That girl was sitting with a brown-haired boy with glasses, and at that moment, she suddenly pushed the boy away and walked to sit down on one of the seats, patted the empty seat next to her, and waved at me, “Here, please, sit next to me.” In such a short while, the bus had already driven a few dozen meters, and mom's figure was left behind. I didn't sit over there, and for some reason, a vague feeling of uneasiness welled up inside me. “Hannah, today, I... I'd better not go.” Hannah put away the smile on her face and replaced it with a pitiful look. “Honey, my best friend, Elara, please, you have to go with me.” “The only way for today's party to make sense to me is if you go. Please.” Ugh, every time. As soon as she shows weakness, I accommodate her. Fine, I said to myself. This is the last time. In the future, even if I get close to her again, I won't tolerate her so much. At that time, I didn't even realize that this really was the last time. I nodded helplessly, turned down a guy next to me trying to help me with my bag, and walked over to sit down next to the short-haired girl. “Hi, I'm Emily, nice to meet you.” After I was seated, this girl smiled at me. Hannah and Luke sat side by side in the row in front of us. Emily suddenly lowered her voice, leaned over to my ear, and whispered, “Do you know this girl named Hannah? She says she's Luke's girlfriend. But they don't look like a boyfriend and girlfriend at all. Instead, they look like a master and his servant. Master and servant, what a strange expression. In particular, the servant in Emily's mouth obviously refers to Hannah, not Luke. I quickly whispered to her, “Hannah is my friend. Luke confessed his love to her last night. There is no such thing as master and servant. They are boyfriend and girlfriend.” Emily mumbled, “That's weird. Luke seemed to be threatening Hannah right before you got on the bus, saying he'd kill her if she didn't do what she promised.” “Huh? really? kill her? You must be kidding. Or.......maybe it's their weird way of getting along?” I really am an i***t. From the moment I got on the bus, there were so many signs that alerted me to the fact that things weren't normal, and I didn't even notice any. I even fell asleep on Emily's shoulder as the BUS drove out of town and sped towards the dark forest. Thus missing the last chance to escape.
