CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO Morgan’s POV: I was not expecting King Damian to show up at the hospital. Not today. Actually, I had trusted Usher to keep him away—or at least keep him busy for the entire damn day. Apparently, I had trusted the wrong person. The moment I walked into my office and saw Damian standing there, his presence hit me like a bucket of freezing water. Although, if I was being completely honest, it was a very pleasant bucket of freezing water. I simply wasn't prepared for him. I still hadn't processed the fact that we had kissed the night before. Every time my brain decided to replay that particular memory, my body reacted before common sense could interfere. His mouth against mine. His fingers touching my bare skin. The heat. The sparks. The way I'd wanted more.
