Damian’s POV:
I had no words. I couldn’t speak after hearing the sad story of my beautiful mate and her brother. It spoke volumes about how strong and brave she was. Now I wish I had come looking for her a few years ago. Not that it would have mattered. Our bond never led us to each other because we had a whole continent and two oceans separating us. This was only her second day back from Med School.
I wanted to run and embrace her with a big hug, and let her know that her soulmate would never leave her alone. But I was afraid she would not let me. I felt how scared she was when I touched her.
"Mom, is she awake?" I mind-linked her, but she did not respond. She must be really upset with me, but what was I supposed to do? How would someone else react if they were in my shoes?
