My Pride and Joy.

Alexander’s POV: My hands and forehead were sweating like crazy, and my heart was about to come out of my chest. I barely even got any sleep last night, because the excitement of finally having her back home felt like electric waves running through my body. I called her last week and offered to come to India and help her pack her stuff, but she said no because I was in the middle of a training camp. She always put others before herself and she knew how important this training was. I wouldn't have minded the traveling, though. It would have allowed me to spend some time with her before we got back to our hectic schedules. I'm afraid this week's activities will not allow me to take some time off to be with her. I literally jogged inside the airport like a desperate maniac. My princess was coming back home; she was going to be back with me. This emptiness in my chest will finally be filled with her presence. Morgan had been gone for almost four f*****g long years, and even though I flew to Europe to see her a couple of times, it was never enough. We were inseparable when growing up, and I had no idea how I had survived without her for so long. I spent so many nights just looking out the window, wondering if she was okay. When we were little, we used to build forts with all the sofa cushions and throw blankets around the living room. We always created a mess around the house and, luckily, mom and dad never had a problem with that. We even spent multiple nights sleeping in a tent made out of old sheets and curtains. Our parents would join in with us from time to time. She loved reading stories to me, and her sweet angelical voice would put me to sleep in no time. And when she wasn't reading a*********s, she would be playing doll, or trying to put makeup on me. I also remember those loud nights when she would come running into my room because we were in the middle of a thunderstorm, and she hated lighting and the roar of the thunders. And somehow, I provided a sense of safety for her. I loved being her protector and her keeper. I missed having her around, stealing my sweaters and T-shirts. Even though she got me mad when she took my favorite hoodies. I just missed everything about her. Her laugh. Her cry. And her temper. She is little, but she is mighty when it comes to her stubbornness. She was now a grown woman who did not need me to hold her hand anymore, but she knew I would always be there for her. Fight for her, and defend her. The only reason I didn't object to the whole European relocation was because she went there to study medicine. She wanted to be a doctor like our mother, and I knew it meant so much to her. The last thing I wanted was to get in her way, and interfere with her goals. I knew that if I showed weakness and fear of her departure, she would have stayed. And I couldn't do that to her. We had other wonderful schools in the other kingdoms near ours-- which would have been closer to me, but our mother wanted something different for Morgan. She made all of us promise that Morgan would never go to any of those, and she was dead serious about it. Mom’s request was extremely specific. Morgan could only go to England, Europe, or Australia as per her order. She even forced my father and me to make a blood oath, so she could trust that we were going to keep our end of the deal. She was determined to keep Morgan away from other kingdoms, and away from this continent. And even though we never understood the reason behind it, dad and I respected her wishes. Thank Goddess, Morgan made it easy for us, and she didn't put up a fight like she normally would. She chose to go to Europe for three years, and then she traveled to India for 9 months to become an expert in traditional medicine. She wanted to specialize in natural medicine, like herbs and other stuff. My little princess was a genius. She was always an honor roll student and graduated at the top of her class. She was student president for two consecutive years, and a council advocate during her senior year. Morgan graduated from high school right before her seventeenth birthday, and she was chosen as valedictorian since she had the highest GPA. The day of her graduation, she delivered an immensely powerful speech. She had everyone in tears—even dad and I were struck by her words. ***** “Holy s**t,” complained Ryan. “Morgan's flight landed almost one hour ago. We should go investigate why she is not out yet,” he continued. I rolled my eyes. This man was about to run through TSA to go find her himself. I guess I wasn't the only anxious person, but there was no need for him to do that. I was sure that she was probably saving someone's life out there. Earlier, I overheard someone announce through the intercom that they were calling an ambulance, because one of the small aircraft loaders had crashed with a tug, and it had caught on fire. Apparently, the driver had some severe burns, and they had called for a doctor to assist with the emergency. I was sure that she had jumped right on it. Kornell, my wolf, was also very impatient— he was ready to see our little sister. He had suffered a lot more with her departure, because he had barely had any time with her the last time she came. This morning, I woke up to his weeping. He was impatient and restless. “Alexander, I cannot wait to see our sister. You need to let me go out for a run with Kira as soon as we make it home.” “Calm down, you beast. She is not even here yet and you are already making demands. I will spend some time with her first. Then I promise to let you go out for a run with Kira.” “You are one selfish son of a b***h, Alexander. You got to spend some time with her when you flew to Europe— I did not. I have not seen Kira for almost one year. And it's killing me.” His words made a small crack in my heart. My wolf adores my sister, and he would kill in a heartbeat for her. He has not seen Kira since she came over for my birthday last year, so I sympathize with him. I know and understand his feelings. “Oh, my Goddess!” Ryan exclaimed. His eyes were about to pop out of his sockets. The stupid look on his face was hysterical. I immediately looked up to the top of the staircase. There she was; she was the most beautiful girl my eyes have ever seen. My precious little sister. My heart was about to come out of my chest. A loud howl came from within me, indicating that my wolf, Kornell, had already laid eyes on her as well. My teeny-tiny princess. I swear, that f*****g staircase was moving in slow motion, and I almost ran up there to greet her myself. I was desperate to hold her in my arms. My heart was beating a mile a minute, anticipating her presence. Her snow-white teeth were on display the moment she laid eyes on us. Her beautiful bright smile lit up my heart, melting it with so much love for her. Her deep dimples made me smile; and I swear I heard a small whimper come out of Ryan’s throat. This man was head-over-heels for my sister. Even if I hate to admit it. I have to agree that I was not entirely happy about them dating-- because I was not. I was not one hundred percent in favor of their relationship, because I had valid motives. And neither did Kornell, but this guy loved her. Ryan was a good man and was willing to lay his head on a guillotine for Morgan. At least that is what I hope he will do if it comes to that. But it did not change the fact that he was not her true mate. Ryan was not a happy camper when Morgan left for Europe. They were always good friends, and to my knowledge, they kept it that way until recently. As far as I know, they have only been in a long-term relationship for a little less than a year. Ryan and I had to attend a military training session in France last summer, and he requested a day off to go see her. I, of course, didn't know that he was doing that, or I would have stopped him. We were about seven hours away from her school-- if he drove a car. So, the guy rode the train for three hours each way instead; just to take her out for dinner and ask her to be his girlfriend. “Alex!” Morgan shouted as she ran towards me. The joy I felt at that moment only melted my heart even more, and I enveloped her in my arms right away. The feeling was un-ex-plai-na-ble. She immediately jumped and hugged me so tightly. I spun her around and kissed her forehead. Kornell was doing somersaults in the back of my head. Our pride and joy had returned home with us, she was finally here. Ryan cleared his throat. “Ahem.” Like, what was he thinking? He wasn't going to make me put my sister down. I didn't give a flying f**k that they were dating. It had been nine months since I last saw her when I went to her graduation. He could wait for his f*****g turn. Period!. "Princess, were you being a doctor out there on the runway?" I asked. Even though I already knew the answer to that. "You bet I was," she responded. Then she went into detail about her first activity as Dr. Miller. Goddess, this tiny part-human, part-wolf sibling of mine, sure knows how to make an entrance. She could fit right in anywhere she went. Her charisma, her kindness, and her empathy were all traits that she had inherited from mom. Morgan was the spit image of our mother. Physically, spiritually, and morally. I had no doubt about that. I only got my mom's blue eyes, everything else was my dad's. Especially my height. Mom and Morgan were petite she-wolves. "I've missed you so much, princess," I confessed. "I've missed you even more," she contended. I always joked around saying that she should have been a lawyer instead of a doctor. Morgan always had to have the last word in an argument, but I loved her like that-- even when she was a pain in my ass. She was hardheaded and stubborn as hell. Only facing the consequences of her actions made her understand. But I even love her flaws and imperfections. And I'm sure she loves me unconditionally too.
