Lilian’s POV I sit in the hard plastic chair of the waiting room next to a white faced Jenna who is now staring at the sliding doors to the Emergency Department, biting down on her lower lip as she blinks rapidly. The clipboard is gripped tightly in my hand and I’m not really sure what to do now. Clearing my throat, I pull the pen out from where it’s jammed under the clip and start to write in Jenna’s name. ‘Umm, date of birth?’ I ask tentatively as my new friend’s gaze snaps to mine, slightly glassy. ‘October seventeenth’ she mutters distractedly. I quickly jot down the information, coaxing answers from the woman until I can stand up and head back to the counter to hand it in.
