Lilian’s POV ‘And as you can see, there is an amazing view of the bay from this window, something you wouldn’t expect from such a low priced property.’ The realtor is gushing over the tiny one bed apartment as though she’s showing me a penthouse not a seedy hovel in one of the less desirable areas of San Francisco. The ‘amazing’ view of the bay that she’s describing is a one foot sliver of water between the two high rises in front of the building I am currently standing in. After three painful hours of searching, I realised just how much it was going to cost me to rent in this city. I was on a pretty good wage at Evolution Industries but with the impending cost of my father’s move and the eye watering price tag that goes with a new care home in this city, I was looking at much lower end
