Chapter three

1050 Words
Malachi’s POV… I hate being part of any of this, I had to for Soren, to maintain our friendship, he is my good friend. I stood by the end of the room, a glass of whiskey clenched against my hand, a few bridesmaids flashed me a smile and a wave of annoyance washed over me. I didn’t come to have a quick f**k, it’s strictly to attend his wedding. I took a sip when I saw Soren and his bride, Genevieve. “Congratulations Soren, you did great.” “Thank you, we are happy you came, I asked Soren if you will be coming earlier and he had no idea.” “I know.” My voice was low and my eyes caught his bride staring for a moment, when I heard a yell, my attention darted to the voice, it was loud and angry. I heard Soren speaking, I gave him a nod as my eyes focused on a little figure in front of two people, they yelled, she didn’t speak, I watched as her fingers quivered in pain, she sniffed, as they yelled at her Why is she not saying anything? Why is no one speaking up for her? The couple, I’m guessing her parents, cursed out, their voices went low, after realizing everyone was starting to stare a little She kept her head down all through, she didn’t attempt to show them their place. Was it respect or fear?. No one should be spoken to like that. My wolf shifted uncomfortably, my eyes remained focused on her, when her head snapped up, her face, my jaw tightened at the mere sight of her eyes covered in tears. She should not be standing like that, crying in that dress. Being an Alpha who owned the biggest b**m club, I was used to reading people, I can see through their fears, submission, resistance. But her presence didn’t feel familiar, she intrigued me in a way I can’t name. Most people will be yelling and cursing out, she didn’t, not once did I hear her voice. Her cheek was damned with tears, I watched as the tears fell to the ground and her failed attempts to wipe it all. It was already too late, I saw it. There is something in her, something she hasn’t discovered. I looked away for a moment, all it took was a second to keep my eyes on her again. She wiped her tears again, just when I thought she was going to be all alone, someone pulled her to him, my stomach twisted in disgust. What am I doing? She is a stranger; she does not belong to me. Lucian had his arms around her, my younger brother, who I referred as trouble, she looked uncomfortable. My jaw tightened. Soren and Genevieve stood beside them, one glance I could tell there is a weird thing going on between the bride and my brother He is always looking for trouble, I can’t save him if he goes after someone’s wife especially Soren, is this the reason he has not been to our meeting? Is she the reason he sneaks out of the house after hours, not that he has too but he did not want anyone to know he is out. My attention draws back to the girl, I watched as Genevieve placed her lips against Soren, I knew Lucian would react, his behavior is always predictable. Genevieve’s kiss was rough, and filled with the intention to make my brother hurt. He pulled her into a kiss. My pulse dropped I smirked at the thought of their childish games. Did he think that will make the bride jealous?. His lips brushed against the girl, she mumbled a word and he didn’t listen, my veins popped out in annoyance, always ask for permission, always take verbal consent, he didn’t, instead he did what he thought is best like always. She didn’t want the kiss. That didn’t stop my brother, he squeezed her ass through her dress and she moved uncomfortably, not enough to push him away, but enough for him to drag her back again. I noticed Genevieve staring at their kiss while she was kissing Soren, he was barely paying attention to his wife’s wandering eyes, she looked away and deepened the kiss. She pushed him away and I smirked, she moved away and he yells her name Val. What was it short for? She took a step further away. I should stop. I didn’t. I found myself following both of them. Lucian attempted to stop her, he yells and utters words to her, she pressed her lips against each other, she stared at him with annoyance, one glance I knew he pissed her off. I imagined she will take the insults, when a loud sound filled my ears. A deep chuckle escaped my lips My eyes darkened. She has a fight in her. Lucian looked shocked, he didn’t expect it, how could he? My brother is used to having woman throw themselves at him, he is used to everyone doing anything he wants. She pulled away and stepped into the changing room. I took a step away from the door when a curse escaped my lips and my feet betrayed me, instead my curiosity about her led me into the changing room. I should walk away yet, one glance at her and I knew I shouldn’t. She was exposed. Why did I still want to look? She stood in a bra and panties. She turned to look at me, my body responded instantly. Why did she have this much effect on me? I stared at her pouted lips for a moment before I looked away. I am only a stranger to her, I took a step back, and her voice filled my ears. Warm, soft and gentle. “Stop.” She called, I listened. My eyes snapped to hers. “Do you also think I am devoid of any charm?.” She asked Devoid If she was, I won’t be here. My eyes darted around her body, she was nothing like she thinks she is. “Tell me.” She yells. I smiled. I took a step further into the room. She should not be seen like that. I closed the door from behind.
