Liora’s POV   I pulled the carton out of the trash can and held it up. Indeed, the mouthpiece was faintly tinged by a strange green residue. It smelled strange, too—like earth and leaves with a hint of something bitter underneath that made me wrinkle my nose.   Had this been in my milk earlier? I hadn’t noticed a strange taste, but when I peeked into the carton, I saw that the entire inside was coated with the stuff. This didn’t feel like a coincidence.   This whole situation was becoming more suspicious by the minute, it seemed. I decided to hold onto the milk carton just in case I might need it for evidence later, and quickly stashed it in my satchel before returning to my cleaning.   For the next three hours, I cleaned that classroom from top to bottom.
