So, without thinking, I fisted Zane’s jacket and pulled him closer.   I didn’t kiss him. I’d rather die. But I let him fall toward me, ducking his head and tilting mine so it looked like we were doing just that.   “Thanks,” he murmured, lips brushing the shell of my ear as he spoke. “I owe you one.”   “You owe me three.” I nodded faintly toward Bianca and Callum. Surprisingly, Callum’s face was completely expressionless. But he was good at that—hiding his reactions. It didn’t mean anything… right? “They’ve got my brooch, and they won’t give it back.”   “Is that so?”   When Zane and I finally pulled apart, he turned slowly, looping his arm around my waist, and looked at Bianca’s neck. His mouth stretched into a smile, revealing the points of fangs that were just barely extended.
