FORBIDDEN LOVE

CHAPTER 9

     Richmond continued showing Kendra some nice places as they walked .She was taking pictures too.Kendra has plans of going back to Spain without knowing that her father has other plans for her.

_KENDRA: I will go back to Spain with a lot of memories because I plan to visit a lot of places too.

_RICHMOND: there are so many tourist sites in Cameroon,so you can visit as many as you want.

_KENDRA: then I will be happy if you can accompany me (placing a hand on his shoulder)

_RICHMOND: I'm a very busy person Kendra, so I don't really have time for other things Apart from work.

_KENDRA: that's fine,my dad will help me find someone who can accompany me

_RICHMOND:ok 

Bella was walking with her cousin and suddenly stopped, she became very nervous and asked Eve to look at the other side of the road.she pointed at Richmond walking with Kendra. Bella felt as if her heart was going to fall off.

_BELLA: I can't Believe that he has been fooling me.they look so happy together ( with a sad face,) I don't want to ever set my eyes on him again.

_EVE: But you said you don't love Bella, he has been sending you flowers but you've not given him a chance.maybe he got tired and decided to move on.

_BELLA: Let's go home please. I can't believe that he gave up on me.

_EVE: So you wanted him to continue running after you? grow up Bella, the world does not revolve around you.i told you to stop hiding your feelings.just look at the way you are behaving now.

_BELLA: I don't know what to do now ( crying)

_EVE: Don't cry. Let's go home.

Bella and Eve decided to go home, as they were trying to get a taxi, Richmond saw Bella.His heart started beating faster,he was no longer listening to what Kendra was saying.Kendra looked towards the direction Richmond was looking and saw Bella.

_KENDRA: hey, can you hear me?

_RICHMOND: OH sorry ,what were you saying?

_KENDRA: it's ok.Besides who were you looking at?

_RICHMOND: nothing, nevermind.

Kendra just pretended as if she did not see the way Bella and Richmond were looking at each other. She decided to play along.

_KENDRA: I'm tired, let's go back.

_RICHMOND: OK.

Richmond wanted to talk to Bella, but a small idea came to his mind and he smiled.He decided to get closer to Kendra.

_RICHMOND: Can I have your contact if you don't mind?

_KENDRA: Sure .Here is my card, my Cameroon contact as well as the one I will be using when I go back to Spain.

_RICHMOND: I would have loved you to stay here a bit longer.( Looking straight on her eyes)

_KENDRA: eurrr why?

_RICHMOND: It's been a long time since you left the country so why not spend enough time here before going back.

_KENDRA: I thought you wanted me to stay because you are beginning to like me.

_RICHMOND: Hmmmm, you are such a beautiful lady ,but……

_KENDRA: But what?

_RICHMOND: Nothing.

_KENDRA: ok.

Richmond wanted to say that she's beautiful but she's not the one he loves, that's when he remembered that he has to get closer to her. Kendra is a very beautiful lady who knows how to take care of herself, contrary to Bella Kendra has a fair skin and likes to wear luxurious things.Kendra seems to be attracted to Richmond but since she's a senator's daughter she want him to make the first move.what she does not know is that Richmond loves someone else.

They got home and Richmond left with his parents.On their way home his Dad started asking him questions about kendra.

_MR ROLAND : Tell me son, how did it go with Kendra?

_RICHMOND: fine

_MR ROLAND : oh, she's such a beautiful lady now. I hope you guys will go out often. You know she just came back after so many years so she needs someone to show her around.

_RICHMOND: You know I don't have time dad.her father will surely get someone to handle that.

_MR ROLAND : We discussed that ,so her  father and I decided that you will show her around and take her to other towns too.

_RICHMOND: I'm not ok with that and don't insist father. I have always accepted everything you want but permit me say no .I will only meet Kendra when I have time, so I'm not ready to sacrifice my work just to go round showing her places.

_MR ROLAND : I can see you are beginning to grow wings , I hope you are not doing this because of that girl you told me about.let me pretend as if I have not heard what you've said.i won't allow you spoil my relationship with the senator,he has always helped me ,so I will be honoured to have her daughter as my daughter in-law.

_RICHMOND:I see! So you want me to marry her just because of your selfish reasons.hahaha father I'm not the only son you have, I don't know about  Brownson( his brother) because I'm not going in for any arranged marriage.

_MR ROLAND : Time will tell.

_RICHMOND: So you have nothing to say mother?

_MRS SHANNEN: Son ,your father is right , Kendra will make a good wife.

_RICHMOOND: wonders! Mother we are talking of a girl that has been out of the country for 18yrs, how come you say she will make a good wife.she is beautiful,yes but that does not make her a good wife and Even if that is the case, she's not the one I love.

_ MRS SHANNEN : Thank God you say she's beautiful ,you will learn to love her.

_RICHMOND: never!

They continued with the arguments till they got home , Richmond Left for his apartment with only one thing in mind, which is to make Bella his as soon as possible.he has  his plans.Mr Roland have been a very close friend to Mr george.they want to use their children to strengthen the bond between them.they Don't care if the children are ok with their decision or not,but Kendra seems to like richmond.so she had a serious discussion with her parents when everyone left after the feast.

_MR GEORGE :my daughter, how did your walk with Richmond go?

_KENDRA: fine dad, he's such a cool guy

Her dad smiled when he Heard that.

_ MR GEORGE : Yeah, Richmond is a very hard working gentleman. 

Kendra smiled.

_KENDRA: Hmmmm, women like men like him. Does he have a fiance?

_MR GEORGE : hahahaha, when you say women does it mean you like him too ?

_KENDRA: errrr not really, in fact I don't know dad ,I just met him ( smiling)

_MR GEORGE : I see, to answer your question.his father told me that he's single,he does not have a single woman in his life.

_KENDRA: really?

When her father said that,she remembered the girl Richmond was looking at earlier

_ MR GEORGE : yes my dear, his Dad told me that and the most interesting thing is that her father will like his son to date and why not marry you .

When KENDRA heard that ,her heart skipped.She  was attracted to Richmond the moment she set her eyes on him and now his dad is giving her the green light to go after him wow!.

_KENDRA: hahahaha, we just met today Dad, it seems as if you guys have been planning this ever since.

_MR GEORGE : You are right, Richmond will make a good husband.

_KENDRA: Hmmmm, ok father. I'm not promising you anything now. I still have two months here ,give me time to get to know him.

_MR GEORGE : thank you my daughter,I know I can always count on you.

_KENDRA: that's fine father.let me go to bed now, I'm so tired.thanks for the homecoming feast (Giving her dad a hug)

Kendra went to bed and after thinking about her discussion with her dad she fell asleep.

Bella has been so nervous for two days now.her cousin has tried to cheer her up but she still can't get over the fact that Richmond is with another woman.she has been like that for two days and today in school, her friend Decided to know what is eating her up.

_ROSE: Bella I've been observing you for the past two days, you seemed so far yet you are here , what is bothering you? 

_BELLA: I am  fine bestie.

_ROSE: I've known you for years Bella and I've never seen you like this.tell me what is making my friend this sad 

_BELLA: I am fine bestie.

She said so trying to walk away but Rose held her hand and turned her face towards her only to discover tears in her eyes.

_ ROSE: hey, you are crying bestie.this is serious ! What are you going through that you can't tell me Bella?

_BELLA: I've tried to fight it , I think I'm losing my mind, bestie, I'm tired of feeling this way. I didn't give him the chance,and now he's with another woman. I've just realised that I love him and I can't afford to lose him bestie ( crying)

_ROSE: stop crying and tell me what happened.

Bella told her friend everything she saw at Bastos two days ago

_ BELLA: I'm such a fool bestie.

_ROSE: stop crying bestie, you are stronger than this.

_BELLA: I don't think so, bestie.

_ROSE: You will be fine, I'm  here for you.

Bella left school after lectures.During that time Richmond called Kendra to Join him in one restaurant at the entrance to Bella's quarter. Kendra had been waiting to receive such a call,so she quickly accepted to meet him . Bella was walking home lamenting on what is happening to her while listening to music, when she was getting closer to the entrance to her quarter she saw someone familiar,to make sure she was not dreaming,she went closer only to discover it was truly Richmond sitting with the same lady .she didn't realize when her phone felt as she remained glued in one place.
