FORBIDDEN LOVE

CHAPTER 8

    A bouquet of flowers is  lying in  front of Bella with her name's written on it and a short note.Bella Decided to pick it up and check the sender's name but unfortunately the person kept his identity anonymous.She decided to read the note which says " i don't know how long it will take for me to win your love .but one thing is sure I won't give up , the more you keep pushing me away I will continue loving you. You are as  beautiful as these flowers and that's how my love for you is.I didn't choose to love you , my heart has chosen you and I'm just following my heart. Bella give me a chance to show you how special you are. You barely know anything about me, but trust me I won't bring nothing but happiness in your life.I will continue sending you flowers until you say yes." After reading this, Bella realised the flowers were actually from Richmond. looking at the flowers and the note in her hands her thoughts drifted towards Richmond and she didn't realize when she started smiling.Is she falling in love ?

_BELLA: Oh God,what is happening to me( talking to herself) this situation is more than me.i have never faced such a situation before .The funniest thing is that I don't know wether what I feel is love or I'm just attracted to him.He won't let me be even if I continue avoiding him.

while she was still sitting outside and talking to herself,her phone started ringing.

ON PHONE

_BELLA: Hello , who is on the line please?

_RICHMOND: it's me.

Just from his voice Bella knew who was talking.

_BELLA: Who the hell gave you my number?

_RICHMOND: that's not important.i called to know if you received what I sent and to tell you that I love you bye

Before she could say anything,he had already dropped the call.She even forgot to remove the phone from her ear. 

_BELLA: What have I gotten myself into?  Who even gave him my phone number.? 

Some moments later,Eve came home and saw the flowers Bella received and started smiling after reading the note on it.

_BELLA: What is so special about that note that you are smiling like this? 

_EVE: this guy really loves you.so tell me how these flowers got here, you were in school if I'm not mistaken.

_BELLA: I came in and met them at the door .The shocking part is that he called me and I can't remember giving him my number.

From the way Eve behaved after hearing that , Bella just realized she gave him her number.

_BELLA: Why did you do that Eve? You know I don't like him . Now he won't let me rest .I have to buy a new sim card .

_EVE: how long will you continue hiding the fact that you love this guy, if you don't love him like you say then these flowers should have been in the trash can and not here.

Realising that what Eve was saying makes a lot of sense, she decided to keep quiet.

The following morning, Richmond was in his office , talking to one of his clients and his Dad walked in.

_MR ROLAND : Hey son, I didn't know you were busy. I will come back later.

_ RICHMOND : That's fine Dad, she's leaving already .

 The client left and his Dad took a seat.

_MR ROLAND: I know what I'm about to say does not concern work but I don't have time to see you after work.

_RICHMOND: It's ok Dad, Tell me .

_MR ROLAND : I have noticed that you look so happier than usual these days,tell me what is making you this happy.

_RICHMOND: Nothing Dad.

_MR ROLAND: I know you so well son. Only a woman can make a man this happy.Just looking at you right now I can only ask,who is the lady in question?

_RICHMOND: you got me Dad, remember I told you that I knocked a girl a week ago right, I think it was destined to happen so that I can find my soulmate.

_MR ROLAND: So you mean to tell me that you are in love with a lady you met just a week ago? 

_RICHMOND: Yes father, I love her so much.it's just a week  like you said but I feel like I've known her forever.

_MR ROLAND: I just came to inform you that the daughter of senator George will be here in two weeks, she lives in Spain. Her dad has decided to organise a small feast to honour her after her brilliant performance. She was the best student of her batch and we were invited to take part.

_RICHMOND: I'm I obliged to be there?

_MR ROLAND: Yes son, her dad and I were talking the other day that you are still single and he said he would like to introduce his daughter to you.

_RICHMOND: you know I don't like such arrangements father, especially this rich people's kids, they are so spoiled.

_MR ROLAND: hahahaha, Don't forget that your father is a rich man as well ,but that did not stop your mother and I from raising you people well.I count on your presence at  that feast.

_RICHMOND: I don't know what to say dad.

My dad wants me to Meet a girl that I've never seen and they expect me to accept stuiiiips.

Richmond continued sending flowers to Bella , she was still confused about Everything.Both Rose and Eve are tired of talking to her ,so they decided to let her be.

_BELLA: this is the 8th time he's sending me flowers and I still don't know what to do, i changed my sim card and warned Eve not to give my contact to him, At times I feel like seeing him .oh no this is getting out of hand.let me call my mom.

Back in the village , Papa Joseph and his wife are sitting by the fire .Papa Joseph has just finished telling his wife something that happened in the past and his wife is shocked.

_MAMA FLORA: So you mean to say both families can not have anything to do as far as marriage is concerned?

_ PAPA JOSEPH: Yes , a curse was placed and it will affect all our generation.

_MAMA FLORA: That's horrible.is there a way to break the curse?

_PAPA JOSEPH: I don't have any idea.my grandfather is no more .

_MAMA FLORA: I just hope we will not face a situation that will involve children from both families trying to get married.

Papa Joseph's phone started ringing….

_PAPA JOSEPH: hello my daughter

_BELLA: good morning Papa

_PAPA JOSEPH: Good morning my daughter.how are you doing ?

_BELLA: I'm fine Dad and you ?

_PAPA JOSEPH: We are fine, oh my daughter.

_BELLA: ok father, I just wanted to hear from you, greet mother for me.

_PAPA JOSEPH; that's thoughtful of you my daughter.take care of yourself.

_BELLA : OK father.have a great day.

Bella actually called because she wanted to talk to her mother about what she's going through,but when she called the courage to tell her mom vanished.Besides her parents sent her to study and not to bring a husband home , that's what she told herself.

Few days later Richmond and his parents went to the senator's house,it was just a small feast with few friends and family. His daughter left the country at the age of 10 and she is 28yrs now. She does not know much about Cameroon.Richmond just wanted the feast to finish so he can leave.

He's standing outside alone , while the senator's daughter is walking towards him

_KENDRA: hey what's up?(referring to Richmond)

_RICHMOND: hi

_KENDRA: I'm Kendra and you?

_RICHMOND: I'm Richmond

_KENDRA: what are you doing outside when everyone is inside having a good time.

_RICHMOND: nothing ,I just wanted to be alone

_KENDRA: I see. How can you attend a feast and decide to be alone .I think if you wanted to be alone then you should have stayed home don't you think?

_RICHMOND: You are right, but unfortunately my Dad would have dragged me here by force.

_KENDRA: You are too big for him to do that, my Dad would not dare do such.

_RICHMOND: That's what you think .

_KENDRA: I'm serious

_RICHMOND: hahahaha, ok if you say so.let me go back inside.

The senator decided to present his daughter to his friend's son, so they walked towards Richmond's parents.

_SENATOR GEORGE: Roland my good friend, this is my daughter Kendra.

_MR ROLAND: Hey Kendra,come here ( giving her a hug) you are now a woman .I remember when you were leaving for Spain, you were just a toddler.

They all laughed.

_SENATOR GEORGE: Kendra meets Richmond, he's a lawyer and first son to Mr Roland.

He does not know that they met earlier, Kendra decided to play along

_KENDRA: nice to meet you Richmond

_RICHMOND: The pleasure is mine, Miss Kendra.

_SENATOR GEORGE: I would like to talk with my friend, Richmond if you don't mind taking my daughter for a walk.

Richmond is a gentleman,so he accepted and decided to take a walk with Kendra. The senator and his family live in Bastos, a quarter in Yaounde which is considered as a residence for the rich, everything there ranging from the street, buildings,cars etc is classic.so Richmond Decided to show Kendra around .she wanted to take her father's car but Richmond refused.so they started walking.

Bella has been visiting places in Yaounde, so she decided to visit Bastos because Eve kept telling her how beautiful the place is.so She decided to go there.not knowing that it was not really a good idea to go there.
