CHAPTER 5

   Bella and Richmond were busy looking at each other while Eve, who was inside the car, was busy looking staring at them.

EVE: Hey guys , let's go . Richmond if you continue looking at each other like that we might remain here forever hahahaha.

Richmond broke the silence and asked Bella if he could carry her to the car.Bella  was a little bit nervous trying to understand why she was looking at Richmond like that . with her approval he helped her to the car and they drove off. All the way home Bella was lost in thought, Eve noticed that and said nothing since Richmond was around.when they got home he helped Bella out of the car , and gave them some things he bought.He   collected Eve's number and promised to call her in order to know if Bella's condition is improving.As soon as he left Eve did not hesitate to say what she has in mind.

_EVE: Hmmmm Bella, I saw the way you two were looking at each other.

_BELLA: euuu,( stammering) I was just surprised when he touched my shoulder.

_ EVE: don't be shy to say you like him, baby cousin hahahaha.

_BELLA: no no no, you know I'm not interested in things like that.

_EVE: you don't program when to love Bella, it comes naturally. Just look at how handsome and rich Richmond is, And to crown it all he's not married cuz I took time to look at his finger.

_BELLA: Shift! ,If you were not dating Patrick I would have said you are interested in Richmond , so stop talking about him. If not I will inform Patrick , hahahaha.

_EVE: ok oh, time will tell .

Bella succeeded in making her cousin stop talking about Richmond but she can't stop thinking about him. Bella has built walls around her heart for the past years and she is not ready to break them but she seems to forget that love comes anytime  and it does not even seek permission before possessing our hearts.

Bella Decided to call her friend Rose to inform her that she has been discharged from the hospital and that she won't be coming to school for some days.

ON PHONE

_BELLA: Hello bestie, good morning.

_ Rose : hi bestie, good morning , I'm already on campus.where are you? 

_BELLA: I'm at home bestie, I had an accident on my way home yesterday.there was no way to inform you because I was unconscious.

_ROSE: what! (With one hand on her mouth) tell me you are joking Bella, oh my God. What really happened?

Bella explained what happened to her friend and she ( Rose) felt very sorry for her .

_ROSE : So sorry about what happened bestie, I tried reaching  you yesterday but u didn't pick up.i will come and see you after lectures.

_BELLA:Ok bestie, I'm home.i've been grounded by force hahahaha.

_ROSE: hahahaha, bye bye.

Bella is not used to staying home without doing anything, the thought of missing lectures for a few days is making matters worse. She's home alone ,Eve is in school .So Bella decided to call her parents since she didn't have the chance to call them yesterday.

ON PHONE

_BELLA: Hello Papa, good afternoon.

_PAPA JOSEPH : Hello my daughter ,thank God you called. I've been waiting to hear from you since this morning , how are you feeling?

_BELLA: I'm fine Papa, I was discharged from the hospital this morning, apart from the slight wounds on my arms and legs I'm ok.

_ PAPA JOSEPH : Thank God my daughter, your mom and I were so worried when your cousin called yesterday. She will be happy to hear that you have been discharged ,she spent the whole night praying and accusing village witches and wizards hahahaha .

_BELLA: hahahaha, mama has always been like that when something happens to me. Talking of her, where is she?

_PAPA JOSEPH : She went to the farm very early, I wanted to hear from you before joining her in the farm, you know this village and network issues, if I followed her to the farm you wouldn't have been able to reach me on the phone.

_BELLZ: ok , tell Mom that I'm fine.i will stay home for a few days so that my wounds can heal .

_PAPA JOSEPH : I was waiting for you to call and ask me to send money for hospital bills.

_BELLA: That's fine Papa, the man that knocked me paid everything.

_PAPA JOSEPH : thank God he didn't escape. I'm happy that he took you to the hospital.Get well soon my daughter , let me hurry to the farm and assure your mother that you are fine.

_BELLA: ok Dad, I will call later in the evening when mom is around . Have a great day.

Bella spent the whole day indoors.Later in the evening Rose came to see her , alongside Daniel her boyfriend.Bella was surprised to see Daniel.

_BELLA: Wow, the latest couples in town . have a seat Daniel ,as for Rose she can remain standing hahahaha.

_ROSE: as if I can not seat on his laps ,( smiling)

_DANIEL: if your plan is to break my legs you won't succeed.

They all burst into laughter

_ ROSE: stuiiiips( sigh) he's not Even Romantic .Others will carry their girlfriends on their backs and you are here complaining.

_DANIEL: Thank God I'm not others .

They all burst into laughter again.

_ BELLA: two of you are so funny, Rose you came here to see me , you guys can continue your Romance after . hahahaha

_ ROSE: stuiiiips ( sigh) .How are you feeling now ? 

_BELLA: I'm getting better, thank God the wounds were not serious.

_ DANIEL : asiaaaa( sorry). So according to what Rose told me ,you were taken to the hospital by the guy who knocked you right?

_BELLA: yes, I feel like strangling him

_DANIEL: You seem to hate him.it was just an accident anyways.

_ROSE: And from what you told me, I think he's a nice person, others will abandon you without thinking twice.

_BELLA: he kept apologising as if his apology would heal my wounds stuiiiips ( sigh)

_ROSE: Hahahaha Bella you are a case study.

_BELLA: He Even collected Eve's number, promising to call.i don't want to see his face again.

_ DANIEL : But from the look in your eyes I think you would love to see him again.

_BELLA: (nervous)no way .

_DANIEL: That's how it starts …

_ROSE: What?

_DANIEL: Nevermind.

_ROSE: Hmmmm ( looking at Daniel)

Bella is lost in thought after what Daniel has just said, what does he mean by " that's how it starts" , whenever she mentions Richmond,she will just remember what happened this morning at the hospital. She was lost in thought that Rose had to tap her shoulder .

_ROSE: Hey Bella, are you listening to what I'm saying at all? What are you thinking about?

_BELLA: Sorry, what were you saying?

_ROSE: Daniel was asking if you would like him to get you something to eat or drink.

_BELLA: nevermind Dan , Richmond bought a lot of stuffs for us this morning.

_ROSE: Hmmmm, he's a gentleman oh

_BELLA: mafff, he's just trying to buy my forgiveness

_ROSE: not really, and not everyone would do what  he did, besides it was just an accident.you are making 

as if he's the only one at fault here.you could have been careful when crossing the road too.

_BELLA: thank you, he would have been careful when driving too( angry) I can see you and Eve are taking his side.

_ ROSE: I'm not taking sides oh.what I've just said is logical.

_DANIEL: she's right Bella

_BELLA: it's true what they say,love is really blind.Even if what Rose was saying is trash ,you will just confirm it.

They all started laughing.They spent some time together until Eve came back and the latest couples left hahahaha.Eve came back feeling exhausted and decided to take a nap.Later that Evening Bella and her cousin were studying and Eve's phone started ringing.

_BELLA:pick your call please

_EVE: hello

_RICHMOND: hi ,it's me Richmond

_EVE: Wow, how was your day Richmond?

_RICHMOND: Fine, how is your cousin?

_EVE: she's fine. She's here with me.

_RICHMOND: I will love to talk to her ,if you don't mind

_EVE:ok. Bella ?

_BELLA: Why are you looking at me like that?

_EVE: Richmond would like to talk with you

Bella's heart started beating faster and she started sweating as well. Will she agree to talk to him ?
