FORBIDDEN LOVE

CHAPTER 1

_MAMA FLORA: my daughter you will be leaving this village to further your studies in the university of Yaounde, please don't forget the good values your dad and I have taught you.

_BELLA: I promise to do my best to make you and Dad proud mama

_MAMA FLORA: You have always been our pride, my daughter.

Bella is a girl of 22 years old and only daughter of mama Flora and Papa joseph.they live in the Northwest region of Cameroon in a small village called Jakiri. Bella has just obtained her Advanced level certificate and will be leaving the village to further her studies in the university of Yaounde.

_PAPA JOSEPH : my daughter's, life in the capital city is not easy . When you get there, don't forget where you are coming from,stay away from bad company, always pray and make your studies a priority.I don't have much to say because your mother and I have trained you well.

_BELLA: I have heard all you've said Papa, I won't disappoint you.

_PAPA JOSEPH :you will be leaving tomorrow, go and prepare your stuff.

_BELLA: thank you Papa

Bella is so happy and Sad at the same time.she will be leaving the village to a town she knows nothing about, leaving behind her friends, parents and the environment she has been acquainted with for all these years.In the other hand she is so excited to see the capital city which she had been seeing only on television and books.

AT THE BUS STATION

_MAMA FLORA:safe journey my daughter,be a good girl and Don't forget what I've been telling you.Call us if you have any problem.Take good care of yourself.(with teary eyes)

_BELLA: don't cry mother, I will call you when I arrive Yaounde (embracing her mother) Papa you have been quiet, is anything the matter?

_PAPA JOSEPH :no my daughter. I was just looking at how you've grown up into a woman.take care of yourself and stay away from any form of distraction ( giving her a hug)

_BELLA: it's time to leave. I will call when I arrive,I love you Mom and Dad.

Bella has just left the village for Yaounde, a town she has never visited before .She is going to Yaounde with a lot of determination to succeed and make her parents proud.

ARRIVAL IN YAOUNDE

Bella has just arrived at Yaounde, her cousin Eve is waiting to pick her up.

_EVE: welcome to Yaounde Bella

_BELLA: thank you Eve.you have greatly changed since the last time I saw you, I'm so happy to be here.

_EVE: you have greatly changed too Bella , I'm so happy to have you here . Let's go home.

Eve is the daughter to Papa Joseph's elder brother.She left the village two years earlier to further her university studies in Yaounde.Bella will be staying with her cousin.

_EVE: we are home Bella, make yourself comfortable, you can take a bath while I get you something to eat.

_BELLA: Thanks Eve, I think I will have to rest before eating. Let me inform my parents of my arrival.

After informing her parents of her arrival, Bella decided to take a bath and rest while her cousin was cooking. Bella is thinking of what the capital city has in store for her .she left the village with a specific objective, which is to succeed with her studies .

2HOURS LATER

_EVE: Bella now that you've had enough rest, wake up and eat let's visit the campus

_BELLA: Is the campus far from here?

_EVE: no Bella, we can trek to school,it's just 10 minutes walk from here

_BELLA: Thank God it is not far from here , I've been trekking to school in the village so I'm not ready to do the same here in town except the distance is short.

_EVE: hahahaha Bella you are funny.we are in town and you can always take a bike or a taxi if you can't walk.finish eating let's go.

_BELLA: I'm just saying my mind, oh, let's visit the campus .I would like to start my prescription as of tomorrow.

Bella seems to get along with her cousin.she is marveled by the beauty of the capital city , that's why she can't stop asking questions about the town to her cousin.if only she could imagine what awaits her in this city. 

IN CAMPUS

_BELLA: WOW!  This place is so beautiful , Eve let's go in please

_ EVE: follow me , you will be marveled by the beauty of this university.

After going round the campus, Bella was impressed with the beauty of the campus. She kept saying wow as Eve showed her around.

_Bella: I can't wait to start my inscription tomorrow. 

_ EVE: stop making like a villager Bella, hahahaha.

_ BELLA: why not, this is my first time seeing a campus as big as this.Our schools in the village are nothing compared to this.

_ Eve: you are right. I hope all your documents for the inscription are ready….

_BELLA: Yes .

_Eve: ok, that's great .we can start the inscription tomorrow. Let's go home.

ON their way back home Bella was focused on admiring the beautiful structures and  asking her cousin questions about yaounde town.

_BELLA: I would like to visit some places here in yde like the Mefou national Park, Hilton hotel , Nkolandom tourist center, and other tourist attractions.

_ EVE: don't worry my baby cousin , I will take you to many interesting places, we still have 2 weeks before school resumes.

_BELLA: mafff don't call me baby cousin ( frowning) I'm already 22.i can't wait to visit all the beautiful places in yaounde.

_EVE: hahahaha, you can't visit all this places at once Bella. Yaounde will be your second home henceforth ,so as time goes you will discover all those places. As for now let's focus on your inscription .

_BELLA: you are right EVE, I'm just so excited but my main priority here is studies so let's focus on the inscription like you said, we can visit those places after.

Bella has always placed her studies first, even back in the village you could hardly see her playing like other kids.She preferred studying or helping her parents with farm work rather than join her friends or classmates in gossiping or playing. Her academic performance has always been the best reason why her parents are so proud of her. Her parents are ready to do anything humanly possible to send Bella to school.Her father being a retired teacher and her mom a housewife, they decided to focus on farming to raise money for Bella's Education.

EVE: Bella wake up, let's freshen up and go to school.

BELLA: So it's already morning eh ( while getting up ) I can't believe I slept this much.

EVE: yeah!, it's normal .After the long journey yesterday you needed enough sleep.

BELLA: You are right.

EVE: I'm always right.

BELLA: says who; hahahaha . this is the first time you've said something reasonable ( teasingly)

EVE: you are not serious Bella, hahahaha .go and freshen up dull girl ( laughing)

They left for school .After compiling all her documents Bella dropped her admission file and they went back home.it took Bella one week to finish the inscription.

BELLA: ah! I can now rest ,I didn't know the inscription would be this stressful.

EVE: yeah! That's what it takes to become an official student of this prestigious institution.

BELLA: I can now rest, and go around town.what if we visit the national park tomorrow?

EVE: if that's what you want. Then we will have to go early because I will be going out with my boyfriend in the evening.

BELLA: Hmmmm! So you have a boyfriend eh .

EVE: Yes , you will meet him tomorrow, Patrick is such a nice person .

BELLA: I was wondering why you make midnight calls everyday.

EVE: chaii! Bella, and I thought you were asleep when doing my calls ( laughing)

BELLA: You have really changed Eve, I remember when you were leaving the village two years ago your dad warned you to stay away from boys, if only he could see the way you chat with your boyfriend at night hahahaha.

EVE: The most important thing is that I'm making him proud with my school results. I'm not getting younger 'sooner or later I will have to get married and you don't expect me to marry my dad hahahaha.

Eve have been dating Patrick for the past two years, their relationship is on the right track and the love is reciprocal.the following day the girls visited the national park as planned and Eve went out with Patrick in the evening.the rest of the week went well as Bella Visited so many places with her cousin.Bella is ready to resume school.
