Not one to be rattled, fear was an unusual feeling to Jason.
“What the? . . . What?! Who’s that?”
I know you must have many questions.
“Damn right I do. What’s wrong with me? Who are you? My subconscious? Am I on drugs or something?”
There’s nothing wrong with you. You have been chosen.
‘Chosen for what?’ he thought.
I have chosen you for your impartiality. Your open mind. Your compassion. You are free from the constraints of an upbringing in any of the many failed world religions. Free from the biases, hatred and moral failings of their teachings
‘It reads my thoughts now? Okay. I'm definitely on something.’
You’re just fine, Jason. Everything is going to be alright.
‘Again, what am I being chosen for?’ Jason is finally getting used to the idea of talking to a voice inside of his own head.
I’ve come before. I created all of this. Made a real mess of things, too. I came back a few more times and didn’t manage to fix anything. I then changed tactics and sent my son. He helped, but his teachings and good works were twisted and misunderstood. Muhammad, Bahaullah and others were all effective in their own ways but failed to make any real headway.
I'm changing my strategy. You are of this world and I’m choosing you. It’s time the people of this world fixed their world’s problems. You have everything you’re going to need.
‘Uh . . What?’
Search your heart. You know it to be true.
‘So you’re, what? God?’
I am what people in your time and space believe to be God. Yes.
‘Is that right?’ Jason racks his brain for information on what hard drugs might make you talk to God in your own mind, and how he could have accidentally consumed them.
‘What am I supposed to do?’ Jason decides to play along.
Do the right thing. Be kind.
‘That sounds easy enough.’
That’s why I chose you. Go forth and do good.
Suddenly, Jason finds himself in his driveway sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, the car keys still in his pocket. He feels a vibration in his pocket, the phone being on silent from a day at work.
Jason what the hell? Sarah wanted to make sense of the day’s events. Who could blame her?
IDK Jason didn’t have much to offer.
Can you come in early?
Yea no problem. 10?
Perfect
