Alexander’s POV
Eloise and the other beauties were escorted to the dungeons. My father looked utterly spent as he ran his fingers through his hair, frustration evident on his face.
“What can I do?” I asked him after too long a silence.
He looked at me and then let out a breath.
“Nothing,” he murmured. “Kyle is in charge of the military now, remember? He’s heading to the military barracks this evening, and they’ll strategize a way to eliminate the threat. There’s nothing for anyone to do but wait for word.”
My jaw clenched.
“And you trust him to handle the situation?”
My father’s eyes narrowed, not liking being challenged.
“It’s a way for him to prove himself,” he simply stated. “I will give him a chance.”
