Alexander’s POV
Her breath was still on my lips when the silence closed around us… warm, stunned, and absolute. I didn’t miss the way her body melted against mine, the small whimper that escaped her lips, and the rapid beating of her heart. It made me tighten my hold on her even more, to never want to let her go.
I didn’t plan to kiss her, but in that moment, my body took over, and I needed to feel her against me.
“Let’s go to bed,” I murmured against her lips.
I stood and offered her my hand. She took it without hesitation and stood on her feet. Together, we went into my tent, and I tucked her into the cot before I slid in beside her. Her eyes were heavy, and it was clear that she was having trouble keeping them open. I wrapped her in my arms, pulling her close as I nuzzled my face
