Joanne’s POV My heart stopped at the sight of Alexander falling to the ground. I jumped up from the fire and raced to him before I could overthink anything. I was exhausted from the day I had. I ended up leaving the medical tent early after Kade recovered so that Conner could interrogate him without me being a distraction. Instead, I went to check on the other patients, the victims, recovering in the barracks. They were told that they would be heading home soon once their village was officially in the clear and on the road to becoming a village again. After I checked in with them, I went to help Colin prepare the food. Though he was a good cook, certainly the best in my opinion, I didn’t find it fair that all the cooking was placed on his shoulders. Then again, he didn’t seem to mind
