Joanne’s POV Alexander had calmed down, but he didn’t stay too far away. He stayed with James and some of the other soldiers, watching me work. I was wildly aware of his eyes on me the entire time, making sure nobody else gave me any issues. The clinic was growing crowded again as soldiers brought in more survivors, but my main focus was on the old woman that Alexander had brought, She looked so frail and worn out that my heart clenched in my chest. She apparently told Alexander that she didn’t want me to waste my time on her because she was old… I knew there was more to it, though, because there was an uncertain look lingering in his eyes. I didn’t question him, though; I needed to focus or else I would never get these people healed by the end of the night. The woman’s eyes flutter
