The Alpha’s Daughter and her Forbidden Mate

Episode 5 Alexander’s POV

As I reminisce on the memory, I hear a slight knock on my door, “Come in” I say to whoever is knocking. Braxton enters, my fathers footman. Also one of the only friends I have here. “Your father has requested me to fetch you so that he may have a discussion” he says as he walks to the window to open the curtains. In pours the light from outside, thankfully vampires have evolved and the day light no longer affects us like it did our ancestors. To which I’m glad because there are some days that I do enjoy lounging in the sun, unfortunately we have to wear UV protective sunglasses, that was the one thing that still seems to be heavily sensitive to the sun. Usually the glasses are a red lense or black. Personally I prefer the red ones, I have been known to be a collector as one would call it of the glasses but right now my favorite are the simple wire frame with rectangular lenses.

I hang the glasses on my shirt and make my way down to my father. He’s seated at the dining table eating breakfast by himself with a glass of deep red liquid that I am all too familiar with. We’ve grown accustom to animal blood over the fast 100 years. We are looked down upon due to it but it benefits our alliance. Although it is not unheard of vampires still taking pleasure in drinking human blood when it is offered by the host. I prefer to stay away from it due to it becoming addicting if one is not pacing themselves.

“Where’s mother?” I ask him. “She’s off preparing for the meeting with the Alpha, there’s also the ball you know. I hope you haven’t forgotten.” Crap. I definitely did forget. “Yes father of course I remembered” I respond to him. “I wanted to speak with you, this year I want you seated in the meeting with the Alpha and I, he is having his heir sit in as well. We both feel you both are at the age to start understanding the importance of this alliance for our future.” Holy crap.. “Are you serious father? Are you sure I’m ready?” I ask him stunned. “Yes son, you’ve matured in these past years and it’ll benefit our future as a Coven” he stated. “Well I am honored father thank you for intrusting me with this.” I said to him. “Oh son you don’t need to thank me. I just wanted to make sure you were ready for this. I’ve been observing and feel that you are. Would you like to sit and have some breakfast with me, I will go over how the day will be run.” “Yes I would like that very much.” So I sit with him.

Well talked for two and a half hours about the meeting and what leads up to it. How the Alpha and Luna are, he mentioned their daughter that he hasn’t really met her have only seen her in past balls that have been hosted. I didn’t even realize that much time had passed until I looked at my watch. He offered coffee with him in his office to further discuss matters but I declined and told my father I’d like a walk in the sun for a little bit so here I am strolling toward the lake.
