THIRTY-TWO They were the only two left at the diner as they finished cleaning up the grease from the grill, griddle, and stove. “Brian,” she said softly, “I have some news.” “What’s that?” he asked as he scraped the griddle. “I told you about my parents buying a house and that my dad was going to remodel it to be a B and B.” “Yes, you did.” “Well, Daddy finished the renovation and it’s ready to market for rentals.” She stopped wiping the stove and turned toward him. “They want me to market it to the public. I would get a percentage of the rental price.
