Chapter 6: I Want A Divorce

1015 Words
"It seems that you still haven't been able to adapt to being Mrs. Dinkins. You can only stay here for the next three days. You are not going anywhere, and that's the punishment," Brian sneered, and his eyes sank. "Why?" Joan stared at him angrily, her face was pale with anger, and her breathing became heavy, "It's the first day we got married, and you can't wait to outflank me?" "So what? You have a problem with that?" Brian raised his eyebrows and glared at her. "Of course, I have a problem with that! We got a marriage certificate and a wedding, and we're lawful husband and wife and we are EQUAL. You are not allowed to be so arrogant and domineering in front of me in the future," Joan was extremely annoyed. "Well, you have made good progress! Now you're a bit like Mrs. Dinkins! Now, have a good sleep. See you tomorrow. Good night." Brian's deep eyes sparkled with a glamorous brilliance. Joan grabbed the quilt tightly, staring angrily at Brian's back, swaggering out of the room. She couldn't help scolding him in her heart for his shameless behavior, and she was so annoyed at being disturbed in the middle of the night! ---The next morning--- Brian, who had had breakfast, was sitting on the leather sofa reading the Financial Business News in the luxurious living room. He was wearing a white shirt and a gray British vest. The smooth lines outlined his tight muscles. Sure enough, men over the age of 30 were very masculine. Brian looked noble, indifferent, and elegant, which was nothing like him from last night. Joan looked angry and stood in front of the sofa with clenched fists. Brian smelt her fragrance. "You are up," said Brian lightly, without raising his head. "Mr. Dinkins, was your behavior last night appropriate?" Joan tried her best to keep her manners. "I don't know what you are saying. Can you be more specific?" Brian looked up at her. Joan was pissed off when Brian pretended he didn't know what was happening. "That agreement is not fair! I thought about it all night, and I think you fooled me. I want a divorce," there was a raging fire burned in Joan's eyes, and she gritted her teeth. "Divorce?" Brian's eyes were full of evilness and charm, "You should know that there are two ways to get a divorce. One is to divorce by mutual agreement, and you can't divorce me if I don't agree." "I will sue for divorce," Joan glared at him angrily. "It's even more untenable. There is no abuse or violence. Even if it's because this marriage doesn't work out, you can only get a divorce after we have separated for more than two years," said Brian. "More importantly, we just signed our prenuptial agreement yesterday. You don't have any grounds for divorce until we have a child, which is the second way to get a divorce," continued Brian. Seeing his lofty, emperor-like tone, Joan endured it in her heart. "Then we won't talk about divorce for now. Mr. Dinkins, should you apologize to me for the offense last night?" Joan narrowed her eyes slightly. "Offense? You and I were legally married last night. I don't think there was anything wrong," there was a glint in Brian's eyes. "If you want to have s*x with me forcefully next time, I won't be merciful to you, and I will sue you in court," Joan gritted her teeth. "Okay," Brian chuckled, but his eyes were cold, "My apology. I'm sorry for being rude last night. But..." Putting down the business newspaper in his hand, Brian stood up and looked down at her flaming eyes with the advantage of his height. "Without my permission, you are not going anywhere for three days. Mr. Purcell, she needs some tea these days to calm down," continued Brian. "Yes, Mr. Dinkins. The car is waiting outside," said the butler dutifully. "Okay," said Brian. "Wait a minute," Seeing that he was leaving, Joan couldn't help but stop him. "What's wrong?" Brian turned to look at her. "Um, about having a child, we can just take eggs for test tubes, can't we? Why do we have to... have s*x?" Joan blushed, and her eyes were erratic. Brian slowly narrowed his deep brown eyes. Joan seemed to sense the chilling atmosphere around the man, even in the living room with the doors open. His gaze was like the ice in winter, which froze Joan in horror. Why does he look at me with such terrifying eyes? Did I say something wrong? "If I wanted test tube babies, I would just buy high-quality eggs. What do you think I pay you wages, marry you, and offer you everything for? And I have to bear your disgust." said Brian. Disgust? I think I was a little bit disgusted by him. Joan thought. ---Spring Garden--- Andrew looked at his still swollen toes in the Spring Garden, and his elegant face was cold and gloomy. "The next time I see Joan, I won't spare her easily," said Andrew. "This is too much. No matter how jealous Joan was of our relationship, she shouldn't hurt you. I can't bear to look at those poor toes," said Jenny. She was applying an ointment to his toes, then rubbing it lightly. "Well, don't worry about it. The doctor said that it would be fine in a few days," said Andrew. Watching Jenny's waist-length hair swing slowly with the rubbing movement, Andrew stroked her slender shoulders. Suddenly, he saw the morning paper on the coffee table and was so upset again. He grabbed it and tore it to pieces. "Damn it! How dare she speak ill of me in front of the media. I will tear her apart the next time I see her," Andrew said. "Don't be upset. She is being r***d, isn't she? It could be considered retribution," said Jenny coquettishly as she saw Andrew so gloomy. "Humph! Speaking of this, don't you have anything to confess to me?" Andrew stared at her angrily.
