My heart raced as I felt the fury building in Silas. I was his mate and he was going to defend me from anything or anyone he and his wolf deemed a threat.
And right now, the future alpha was a threat.
I tried to distract Silas, tried to turn his face to me, "It's ok," I murmured to him as I kissed his neck. "I'm right here...."
I felt Silas relax in my hands as I cradled his face and kissed his skin. That is until Jax continued his banging on the door. Silas' eyes flashed violet immediately and he pulled away from me. He fixed his shorts to his waist and lifted me off the counter, covering me back up with my clothes. He kissed my lips desperately before he zipped to the door and yanked it open before I could even realize what was happening.
