POV- 1st person (Spade) Setting- Fideen -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- I, Stormy, along with the boy and girl are in Stormy's house. I sit on one of her couches and the boy and girl sit on the other across from me with a table separating us. Stormy is in the kitchen making tea. "So, what are your names?" I ask. "Im Vallery." The hot pink headed girl says. "And Im Jordan!" The boy says. I glance at both of them. I see they both have Elf ears. And not only that, they are both shorter than me. That makes me wonder something. "Hey, how old are both of you guys?" I ask. "Huh? Can't you tell? Vallery asks in a questioning tone. I tensed up. "Is this going to be offensive to ask?" I thought. "No, to him it might be though." Vallery said. My eyes widened. "Did she just- read my mind?" I wondered. "Yep! It's one of my powers!" The girl exclaimed proudly. "Pardon?" I ask. Stormy appears around the corner with a tray of tea cups. "You don't know much about this world do you?" She asked sitting beside me once she set the tray on the table. I sighed. I couldn't keep it in anymore. "Hey Vallery. You can read my thought's right?" I thought reluctantly. "Yes ma'am!" She exclaimed. Jordan and Stormy were confused. I assume they know about her ability but I think they were confused on why I didn't say it upright. I lowered my head. I didn't want to look at anyone. I didn't even want to speak of my time in Aurum. So I plan for Vallery to speak for me. "Ask them if they noticed my mark on my cheek." "Spade wants to know if you guys noticed her mark." Vallery asked. "How could we not?" Jordan said crossing his arms. "But a lot of people have marks for different reasons. In my opinion it's become complicated. "Mind explaining it?" I asked raising my head. "No problem." He said pushing up his round glasses. "In the olden days as you might know, white marks on your body were commonly known as a sign of royalty. And at the time, people of royalty were the only ones allowed to have power. But later on a trend started to emerge. The trend was for a royalty to marry a person of non royalty. This allowed for the marks on a person's body to become meaningless because of how common it got." "Really? Since when?" I ask. Jordan and Stormy exchange concerned glances. "Ma'am, this trend has been going on for the last 500 years im afraid." He said. I was in complete shock. "What other event's have I missed in isolation!?" I thought. "Isolation?" Vallery repeated. The room went silent. "Spade, is there something your not telling us?" Stormy asked with concern. "I-I." I wanted to tell them. But words refused to come out. I took a deep breath. "Alright. Bear with me with what im about to tell you." I warned. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- After explaining everything, I wasn't surprised at their reaction. It was complete shock. I could tell that words evaded them. "S-so your saying- that..." "You've been isolated from the world for more than twenty years?" Jordan repeated, cutting off Stormy. "Yep." "And your also saying that your escaped royalty." Vallery asked. "Y-yes?" Them repeating what I said is making me nervous. "No wonder you're oblivious to what's happening." Stormy said. Jordan took a sip of his tea. "Well what else do you not know?" He asked bluntly. "Im going to be honest. Close to nothing. You mentioned something about a certain someone, or something attacking-" I trailed off. "Wow I must sound dumb right now..." I thought. "Yeah a little bit." Vallery admitted with a smirk. "Region?" Jordan finished for me. "Yeah, that thing." I said. "Ah yes, you did come here to talk about that didn't you." Stormy said. Kind of as if she didn't want it to come up. "Oh yes, I did." Jordan said. He turned to me. "This will be a good history lesson for you." He said as he turned back to face Stormy. "So, as we already know. The region of Été and l' automne have been inhabited by shadow knights already." He explained. "Shadow knights?" "Evil entities. People that have died and are given the chance to reincarnate for evil purposes. Vallery explained. "They live in the Nether. Sound familiar?" "Yeah. I know about the Nether." Jordan nodded. "Me and Vallery just recently got back from the Hiver region. We have been informed that some parts of that region have been attacked as well. Though they are holding off better than the others." He explained. "Interesting." Stormy said. "Wait. I recognize those names. The name of those regions are all in French. They translate to Summer, autumn, and winter." I said. "Yes. You must have noticed by now that we don't get a normal revolution of the four seasons. We used to, but about 1,000 years ago the seasons settled in different parts of the world. We named these parts regions. We currently live in the spring region. Or most commonly referred to as Printemps." Jordan explained. "And another question. Are these Shadow nights another old concept?" I asked. "Actually no. Appearances of Shadow nights have been popping up for about 10 years now. Still fairly new. They have always been known about. They were just thought to have been extinct, Killed off by our gods." Jordan explained. "Ah, I see. Continue then." I said. "Thank you." Jordan said turning back to Stormy. "So back to what I was saying. The situation is worsening. If the Shadow nights continue at this rate, they might attack this region as well. I suggest we seek help from one of the bigger villages in this region. The only kingdom in this region is Aurum and your already on bad terms with them." He explained. "Bad terms? Wait your the Lord that was supposed to show up at the ball!" I shouted. "Yes. I figured out his real intentions and pulled out of the alliance." Stormy said. "Is that why your village is so small?" I asked. "No, there is a reason its like this. But I don't feel like getting into that right now." She said seeming to get mad over the thought. "So what do we do?" Jordan asks. "What can we do Jordan!? We are a village with only six other people in this village! We stand no chance against possibly tens of thousands of Shadow nights." "Only thousands? That sounds like an easy fight to win if they go against a region with probably millions of people." I said. "The thing is, when a Shadow night is reborn they come back with 10x the strength they had when they were living the first time. So imagine for every one Shadow night, instead your going up against ten. Some of them were already very strong when they were living. So about half of those shadow nights have about 100x the power of when they first lived." Vallery explained. "Wow. That sounds pretty bad..." I said. Stormy leaned back. "Just- let me think about this..." She said wearily. "Alright. We'll take our leave. Jordan said. Me, Jordan, and Vallery got up and walked towards the door. I leaned down to whisper in Vallery's ear. "So how old are you guys?" She chuckled. "Around your age actually. Do we look that old?" She asked playfully. "No! Not at all! Just curious..."
