I slowly wake up and roll over on my bed. I know it is to early to be awake, but I decide to wake up anyway.
I sit up and stretch my arms. I swing my legs out of the bed and walk towards my closet.
I get changed into a white sweater and blue jeans, and then walked out of the house.
Since no one was awake yet I decided to explore a bit. I went to the garden to pick an apple to eat.
Something I found weird is that I heard someone humming a tune.
"I thought no one was awake yet though?"
The direction it came from was to my right, where the wheat fields are, so I walked in. There is a path so it's not like I was damaging the crops.
The wheat was swaying in the fields. It's peaceful. As I was walking I was going to take another step when I saw something on the ground.
It was John. He was laying down, his shoulder length red hair messily on the ground with his hands behind his head.
"Is he asleep?" I question. His eyes were closed and he seemed so peaceful in this form.
I kneeled down to study him since he didn't notice me. My face hovers over his and I poke his cheek playfully.
His eyes flutter open to my goofy smile.
"What are you doing?" I ask trying to hold back laughs.
"I think the more important question is what are you doing." He says slyly.
"Huh?"
"Your very close." He says.
I back up now on my knees. "I- Im sorry! Its just that I thought it would be funny to wake you up like that... I guess I didn't realize." I say completely embarrassed.
He sits up slightly smiling. "Don't worry, its fine." He reassures me.
"But really. What are you doing?" I ask still confused.
He didn't answer, he just laid back down in the same position.
"Maybe if you try it, you'll understand. He said closing his eyes.
I looked at him with doubt. But I laid down beside him on my stomach with me head resting on my arms.

John POV
I don't know how much time has passed, but I woke up after drifting off to sleep.
I sat up and yawned. "I really need to stop doing this..." I thought to myself.
I got up ready to get back to work when I noticed something that made me laugh.
It was Spade, on the ground dead asleep. I kneeled back down in front of her. She was drooling a bit. It was so cute...
"She is so pitiful..." I said to myself. Though I shouldn't leave her out here."
I turned her over and picked her up bridal style. I walked out of the field's and towards what I think is her house...
Halfway there I felt her shift in my arms. I stopped and looked down to see her staring up at me.
I just smiled. Its all I could do.

Spade POV
I slowly came to my senses. I figured I fell asleep but I felt different. I moved my head to look up and was met with John's comforting gaze. He smiled down at me.
I blinked and my eyes widened. "Am I being carried!?" I thought.
"Hi sleepy head." He said.
He started to let go of me legs so I could stand, but I still couldn't comprehend what was going on so I couldn't stand up right. John notices this and he held me up by my back.
"Are you ok?" He asked raising his brow.
"Uh- I don't know..." I muttered.
He laughed. "Clearly..." He teased. "Can you stand?"
"Oh, yeah." I said no longer needing his support.
He backed up. "Well I got to go. See you around." He said as he waved goodbye.
I waved back and headed to my home. I went inside, closed the door and went to sit on my bed.
I sighed. "Why is my heart racing?" I wondered
I flopped backwards. "I probably looked like an idiot..." I said.
"Now that I think about it-" I sat up and looked around. "Where is Ben? I Haven't seen him in days..." I said feeling guilty. I always spend time with him, he's my best friend. But lately it seems like I just completely forgot about him.
I walked over to Vallery's house and knocked on the door. "Coming!" I heard her shout.
She opened the door. "Hey Spade! You need anything?" She asked.
"Hey Vallery. Do you know where Ben lives?" I ask.
"Oh, you mean your friend?"
"Yeah."
"I do. Follow me!" She said walking past me. I followed of course.
We walked back towards the main part of the village. She walked up the hill leading to Stormy's house.
"But- this is Stormy's home." I mentioned being confused.
She stopped in front of the door and turned to me. "Ever wonder why you haven't seen the guards of this village?" She suggested, Then she knocked on the door.
"Huh?" I thought completely puzzled.
Stormy opened the door.
"Oh! Hi you two! What brings you here?" She asked.
"Spade wants to know where Ben is." Vallery said.
"Ah, I see. He is in the room I provided him with upstairs. It's the first one to your right." She explained stepping aside.
"Thank you." I said going inside.
Vallery came inside to. I heard them giggling behind me.
Once I got up the stairs I saw the door to my right so I knocked.
"Coming!" I heard him shout. I felt relieved once I did.
He opened door and was shocked to see me.
"Spade?" He asked.
I didn't let him finish. I just hugged him.
"You ok?" He asked in a sort of whisper.
I shook my head. "I wanted to see if you were ok." I mumbled.
He chuckled and closed the door.
"Why wouldn't I be? I finally get the comfort of knowing your safe." He said in a comforting tone.
"But as soon as I got here I just- Forgot about you..." I mumbled the last part.
"I highly doubt you forgot about me. From what Stormy tells me you just seemed so happy here." He said.
"I am but- without you I wouldn't be here... I said hugging him tighter.
A soft smile spread on his face and he hugged back resting his head on mine.
"Can I make it up to you?" I asked him.
"Spade, you don't-"
I didn't let him finish. I just dragged him out of the room and down the stairs.
Once we got out of the house I took the path that Stormy showed me to get to the secret beach.
"W-where are we going?" He asked.
"You'll see." I said.
Eventually we got there and I let go of his hand. The breeze was nice and cool.
"You like it?" I ask him.
He didn't say anything. He just sat down on the warm sand staring out into the ocean.
"How do the other's not know about this?" He asked.
I sat beside him. "I don't know. Maybe because it's surrounded by a forest? Peaceful right?" I ask.
He looked at me and smiled, his hand grazing over mine. "Yeah, it is..."
