POV- 1st person (Spade) Setting- Ben's house/The castle -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- I had to process what I just heard. "Wait- you want to come with me"? I repeated shocked by his response, though it was not at all unwelcome. "Yes." Ben said with his arms crossed. "Im not letting you do this alone if given the choice." I grabbed the tea he had made and drank the rest of it. "Alright then. I will be on my way! We can talk more about this tomorrow. Its kind of late." I stood up with my notebook in hand walking towards the door. "Uh I don't think-" Ben tried to stop me but I was already heading for the door. I opened the door and was hit with frigid air. I quickly closed the door shivering. Ben laughed. "Tried to tell you... It's unusually cold tonight. Might wanna stay here". He suggested. "B-but I need to get home. You know what will happen if father see's that Im not there!" I objected. "I know." Ben said calmly. "But I checked your father's schedule. It seems he is booked for meetings all day tomorrow. So you'll have plenty of time to get back." He said. "Oh okay." I said sort of relieved. "If you want I will sleep on the couch, you can sleep in my bed." He said. "A-are you sure? I can take the couch." He patted my head softly. "Don't worry I'll be fine. Besides it will only be for one night." He reassured me. "Alright then. I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight!" I said as I headed up the stairs. "goodnight." -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- "Hey, wake up sleepy head." I heard Ben say. I was still half asleep so it was muffled. I groan and roll over. "Ugh, Five more minutes..." I mumble. A few minutes of silence pass and I drift back to sleep. That was short lived because Ben started to shake me awake by my shoulder. "Ben stoooop! I wanna sleeep!" I whined. "That's what you get for staying up all night constantly!" He argued. Ok ok I'm up! I finally gave in. I sat up in the bed and turned to him rubbing my eyes. "Good morning." I said groggily. "Heh, good morning Spade. How did you sleep?" He asked. "Good. What about you? Sorry I stole your bed..." "Don't worry about it, I slept fine." He reassured me. "That's good." I smiled. "I made breakfast downstairs. I know you like my cooking." He said. This is true. I've always thought that Ben has been a really good cook. I've asked him once or twice to teach me but my training always got in the way. On top of that I was never really allowed to leave the castle. "Oooh~ I'll be down there in a minute!" I said excitedly. He smiled. "Good! It will be ready." And then he walked out of the room. I swung my legs out of the bed. I hope Ben doesn't mind but I slept in his bed without pants. Its what I usually do and I wanted to be comfortable. I looked over to Ben's closet. "He is a few sizes bigger than me so his clothes are bound to be comfortable!" I thought. I walked over to his closet and rummaged around a bit. I found a baby blue colored shirt that went over my knees. "A night-shirt?" I thought. I shrugged and sat it on the bed. I looked around some more and also found some baggy pants to go with it. I tossed it on the bed and walked over to it. I started to take off my shirt when I heard someone coming up the steps. "Crap crap crap!" I thought to myself. Ben opened the door. "Hey do you want to-" He stopped mid sentence and stared at me. I blushed furiously. There was awkward silence for a moment. "Uh... Ben?" I managed to say. "U-uh r-right! Sorry!" He stuttered out as he ran out. (A/N- I am secretly a sucker for romance leave me alone...) -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- I sat on the couch eating what is on my plate. It was some bacon, toast and strawberries. Ben was facing the other way, cleaning up. But I could tell he was not always focused on cleaning. Once in a while I would see him out of the corner of my eye look back at me, but quickly turn away. Once I finished I walked over to hand him my plate. He seemed lost in thought so I tapped him on the shoulder. He jumped slightly when I did but he took my plate and I sat back down. "Are you ok?" I asked. "Uh yeah. Im fine." He mumbled "Yeah like that's convincing." I thought. "Well if we want to start this plan we have to go back." I said getting up. "What if people are outside? They will recognize you immediately." He stated. "It's to early for people to be outside. And they have no reason to be out because they can't leave the gate's." "True I guess... Are we using the passage way?" He asked. "Yeah. Just in case my father is there." "Alright then." He said as he walked towards the door. "Oh, and one more thing." I said which stopped him in his tracks. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "Forget what you saw." I say as I walk in front of him. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- We enter the castle through the passage way and we sneak into my room. When we're inside I quietly close the door. "Alright what's next?" I ask. "Well we need to measure the distance from your window to the ground." He said. I have a window in front of my bed. It is big enough to where I can fit my whole body through it. But it is a long ways towards the ground. I open the window and look down to try and guess the distance. "I would say 15-20 feet. But that's just a guess." I told him. "Alright then. Let's try to get a 20 foot long rope then just to be safe." He said. "And another thing. What are we going to escape on?" And where are we even going to go?" I wondered as I closed the window. "I have an idea of what we're going to escape on, but I don't know where we could go that's safe." He said. "What do you mean by that?" I asked confused. "Your the princess of Aurum. You are bound to be known by other kingdom's and village's. If we wonder into a widely known kingdom or village we are going to be turned in." He explained. I thought for a moment. "So what if we settle into a smaller, less known village or kingdom?" I ask. "Well that's debatable. But the only challenge is that they are most likely not registered in any maps. So how are we going to find any?" I was about to speak when I heard someone walking up the step's. And I instantly knew who it was. Ben turned to me. "Father's back." I said shakily. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- A/N- If your wondering what the difference between a village and kingdom is then I will explain it to you. A kingdom is ruled by a royal family, normally with power's. Kingdom's have stricter rules for their citizens but the benefit is that everything is provided for you. Housing, food, water ect. You just have to pay for it. A village is a community of people usually run by a lord. A village is less strict and usually let's the people roam and do as they please. Unless if it's bad of course. Housing is sometimes provided. But you also have the option to build it yourself. The thing that really sets them apart is that villages are more connected to magic and gods. Despite kingdom rulers having magic they are not so connected to it. But this can also cause wars and fights between other villages so that's a downside.
