POV- 1st person (Spade) Setting- ?? -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- I kept trying to race John and even though he wasn't using his power, I was still losing. And the fact that I was bad at running before doesn't really help. "Would you slow down i***t!" I yelled after losing to him again. "Spade at this point Im just speed walking." He said looking down at me because I was hunched over trying to catch my breath. "You two are just like little kids." Ben said walking up to us. "Oh hush you have no say in this, unless you want to race me to!" I shouted. "Are you sure your not going to pass out before you start?" John retorted "Shut up!" "You guys don't want to make camp? It's almost night time." Jordan pointed out. I looked up at the sky, I guess I haven't been paying attention to how late it's been getting. "Yeah that sounds like a plan." Sabrina said while stretching. "Wait, I was not told that we had to pack for this trip..." Ben patted my head. "Don't worry, I packed for you. I assumed you would forget." He said smuggly "Hey!" .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. Thankfully, everyone had their own tents. I was in mine and changed into the pj's that Ben brought with us. "I would be lost without him, im such a child..." I thought pouting. I flopped out of my tent to see the others who were also in their pajamas. Well, everyone else accept for John. I got out and walked over to Ben and sat next to him, he wasn't doing much. Just reading a book I think he borrowed from the library. "Hey, where's John?" "Hm? Oh I think he is asleep." "What? Already? That's weird..." "Well he like's to wake up early so he usually goes to sleep earlier than usual." Sabrina explained. "Sound familiar?" He said smuggly. "Be quiet, it's a habit..." "So how far is Ancienla anyway?" Ben asked. "Not terribly far. I would say 2 more days and we wil be there." Jordan said. "Ugh, I wish there was a faster way there..." I whine. "Well the way you and John were running today im sure you could make it there in half the time..." Sabrina teased. "Correction, im sure John could." Ben retorted. "Would you stop picking on me!?" I shouted. Of course the others laughed at me. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. After that, we talked for a bit, ate, and everyone went to sleep. Well, almost everyone. I stayed awake. I don't know why, but I just couldn't sleep. I soon accepted the fact that I wasn't going to sleep so I crawled out of my tent and sat on my knees looking up at the night sky. "If I would have brought my notebook I could have wrote myself to sleep." I thought. I turned around to go back into my tent when I noticed that one of them was lit up, with a lantern I assume. "That's weird... I thought everyone was asleep?" I walked over to the tent, I ddin't know who's it was because I went into mine first. Going by that logic I sat outside of it to see if I could pick up any sound to specify who it was. about 5 minutes passed and so far nothing. But what was strange was that I heard writing. So this person must not want to wake up anyone else. I shrugged it off and was getting back up to go inside my own tent when a voice stopped me. "Leaving so soon?" I knew it was John but it was so quiet that it scared me. "How did you know?" "The light illuinated your shadow." "Then why didn't you say anything sooner?" "I didn't want to." "Oh." There was an awkward silence for a moment. "Do you want to come in?" He asked. "Oh, sure." I said as I crawled in. And sure enough he had a pencil and notebook in hand. "What are you writing?" "Just about everything that happened today. It's my diary." "Ah, I have one too, though it's not with me." "Never prepared huh?" He joked. "Once, I was prepared once in my life." "Ah, good job." "Your mean..." I pouted. "Want to sit next to me? I'll let you flip through my diary." He offered holding it out to me. "Ooo~ ok!" I said as I crawled beside him and took the book. "Im not letting you read all of it though. You can only read the ones I say you can." "Alright dad..." I teased flipping through the book. I stopped on a page that caught my attention. It was labelled 9-13. September 13th, the second day of me being in the village. "Hey! That is one of the ones your not allowed to see!" He said snatching the book away from me. "Hey that's not fair! I barely saw it!" I whined reaching over to get it back. He held it farther away so I couldn't get it. "This is so not fair..." "Its my diary my rules." He retorted. I was still reaching for it but I couldn't reach it. I put my hand on his leg and reach over his lap to grab it. And I did. "Ha! Got it!" "Correction. I have it, you just grabbed it." I tried to pull it out of his grasp so I pulled the opposite way he was holding it. "Oh no you don't." He pulled the book towards him, but I didn't let go. So he ended up pulling he towards him. I fell on his lap facing him. Of course he was laughing. I would have been, if I wasn't focused on how close we were. But I snapped out of it because this was the perfect time to snatch the book. I snatched the book and backed up before he could reach for it again. This gave me enough time to see what was on the page. Though it wasn't writing like I thought it would be. Instead it was a sketch of what I could assume was me. And a very good one at that. "You can draw!?" I asked with stars in my eyes. "Yeah... It's a hobby of mine..." He said shyly looking away. "You should draw more! It's really good!" "I- Thanks. It's getting late shouldn't you be asleep?" "I should be asking you the same thing." "Fair enough, I might try to go to sleep, you should to." "I will." I saw as I turn to get out of the tent. "Goodnight John." "Goodnight."
