Chapter 5 “I didn’t know, Ronan,” Felix pleaded. “Please don’t be mad at me.” “If you didn’t know, ya shouldna done it,” Ronan said. “Lay off the boy, will ya?” Lorcan said, wiping a rag across a counter that didn’t need cleaning. Although the vet had only taken twenty minutes to get there, he had been out in the barn for over an hour. Both Ronan and Lorcan had tried to go out, only to be exiled back into the kitchen where Felix had been since the very beginning. When an emergency happens, get the Yankee out of the way apparently. “Sit down, Grandad,” Ronan sighed. “You’re exhausting me just lookin’ at ya.” “I’m going back out there,” Lorcan said on his way to the door. Before he could reach the door, it opened and in stepped a tall, thin man who appeared to be in his mid-thirties.
