Felix didn’t want to wake up so early the next morning, but Lorcan was making such a racket in the kitchen he had little choice. “What in the hell are you doing, old man?” he asked from the doorway. Lorcan had enough food for an army piled onto the table and was busy preparing more. Over his shoulder, Lorcan said, “Making breakfast for the boys.” “What boys?” Felix asked. Lorcan only nodded toward the window. Felix crossed the room and peered out. Several trucks were parked haphazardly about the property. Lumber, sheets of tin, electrical wiring, and men were everywhere. “What the hell?” Felix said, but didn’t wait for an answer before rushing out the door. Ronan was hobbling from person to person, trying to either stand in their way or encourage them to drop what they were carrying.
