Chapter 14Danny waited patiently for Sundance to come in to take away the garbage. After a while he heard the key turn the lock and the door began to open. When Sundance’s cell phone rang, the door quickly shut. Danny quietly got up and stood near the door so he could hear Sundance’s part of the conversation.
“What’s wrong? Why are you calling me?” Sundance said. “What do you mean they want me to go in and see the doctor? Didn’t you show them the positive test?…What are we going to do when the COVID test they give me comes back negative?…What am I going to do with these two?…Yes, they’re asleep…I guess since I have no choice, that’s what I’ll have to do.
