Chapter 22Early the next morning, Peter and a couple detectives showed up at Kevin Kane’s hotel room, warrant in hand. When there was no answer, they had the manager let them into the room. Kevin was just getting out of the shower when he heard the detectives in the bedroom. He threw on a bathrobe and walked out there.
“What the hell are you doing in my room?” Kevin asked.
Peter handed him a copy of the warrant and said, “We’re here to search your hotel room.”
“Why? What are you looking for?” Kevin asked, his anger getting stronger.
“We have reason to believe you were involved with the kidnapping,” Peter answered calmly.
“Yeah, I was one of the people kidnapped. You don’t seriously think I’d be part of a plan where I was drugged and held captive, do you?”
