Lisa's POV I didn't answer when the knock came again because I knew it was Charles. For a few moments, I just stared at the door, wondering what he wanted this time. Another knock followed, it was softer than the first. "Lisa?" His voice carried through the door. "May I come in?" I let out a slow breath before walking over to open it. Charles stood outside with both hands in his pockets. The confidence he usually carried so naturally seemed to be missing. The moment our eyes met, all I could think about was the argument downstairs. I folded my arms. "What are you doing in my room this time?" I said. He didn't answer immediately.
