“The killer is sneaky,” I said, “but that doesn’t mean we can’t catch them.” I smirked, trying to add some humor. “We each got skills. You’re an outsider and can read people well. Maybe you see something I’m overlooking. I have my detective skills. Together, we can be a team.” Jane gave the brightest smile I’d seen yet. “Team Jane and Garnet or Jackson and Stone.” Her nose crunched and her smile vanished. “That one sounds bad. I don’t want people think we named ourselves after Stonewall Jackson.
