Unexpected encounter

893 Words
He arrived at the bar in his slick black Porsche packed at the vip spot, "A drink will do", he thought to himself as he enters inside and walks straight to the left spot, the bar was crowded, it was his first time coming to a bar in New York, as his life was circulated around Oklahoma. Music played in the background. He observed the whole room before sitting down where he could be attended to, but everyone looked busy. Getting someone's attention was hard — very hard — especially for a new face. Most of the people looked like regulars, old hands, so it was easier for them to get served. "A glass of red wine will be fine," he said as the bartender facing him nodded and walked away. He sat patiently, waiting for his order while observing the place. Twenty minutes passed without his order being served. He didn't react, just smiled. Forty minutes passed, making it an hour and he still hadn't been attended to, He couldn't take it any longer. "How incompetent can y'all be? This is my first time in this bar — is this a proper way to show your stupidity? ... Yes! The moment I saw you all, I knew you couldn't impress me, but did you have to prove it?" he screamed. "How can we be of help to you, sir? Forgive our incompetence," someone who looked like the manager said. "You must be the manager. You need to look out for the people you hired here — they're not worth the pay," he said with a frown, swinging his car keys. "Yes, sir, how can we help you? It won't happen again," the manager said, giving him a warm gesture. "You can help me by getting out of my way, I'm leaving!" "Mister you can't just leave like that, it will prove our incompetence...." The manager pleaded firmly. "But isn't that what you guys...."as he was about to complete his sentence a lady responded from the background. "Your order is here Mister, the guy who was supposed to attend to you passed the order to me because his shift was over and I couldn't get to you on time because the red wine was out of stock so I had to go to the warehouse...."he cuts her off. "Save the story", he raised his hand up, as he turns his head up to see who he wasn't expecting to see. The choir girl. "The Choir girl a bartender," he thought to himself. "Interesting". "The angry man from church?, this is not interesting" Agatha thought to herself as she dropped the tray of red wine and glass cup on the slab. "Okay, everyone, get back to work — sorry for the drama," the manager said and left as the angry man went to sit down. Agatha served him a glass without saying a word. "Why is she shy?" He wondered. Minutes passed. He had only taken a gulp of wine, looking at the floor. "Excuse me, where's the lady that served this to me?" he asked a random bartender. "I don't know. Is there anything you want me to help you with, sir?" the bartender asked. "Get her for me", he frowned. "Uh- Mister I I.....", the bartender stammers. "I said get her and now!", he shouted almost causing a scene. "Okay," the bartender said, turning to face the room. Faces stared at him, making him uncomfortable. "Yo!" he said to Agatha. She wasn't sure she'd heard him right. Did he just talk to me, or am I dreaming?_ she wondered, a bit excited. _Wait, why am I happy?_ she thought. She'd been lost in thought for a few minutes before she remembered that she'd been called — and not just once. He'd been calling, but her mind wasn't there. "So sorry mister, you called?" She said to him". "What's going on in her mind", he wondered. "Could you show me where the bathroom is?" He asked her. "I can't I mean I can but I'll just call a guy to show you", Agatha smirked. "No I want you specifically", he frowned. "My boss is around", Agatha said trying to escape because she couldn't handle this. Maybe if he were a stranger she wouldn't have a problem... Yes, he was a stranger but not completely one. "Are you scared of your b...?" Before he could finish the word boss she cuts him off. "No!", she frowned. "Or you're scared of me?", he smiles. She had never seen his teeth before; she couldn't believe he had just smiled. _How can I make him smile?she thought. "Hahaha, why would I be scared of someone I don't know?" she laughed, avoiding his eyes. "It's just that you're a guy and I'm a lady it's not too proper..." "I don't care, just take me to the bathroom", his smile didn't last, he was already frowning. "Fine, mister, let's go," she said as she took him to the bathroom. "You can't go in, just wait for me," the young man said and closed the door behind him. She obeyed, she waited. Couple minutes past and she was still waiting, he had not come out. Before she could leave he opened the door and dragged her inside, pressing his lips against hers, not giving her space to breathe or talk.
