Elena’s POV
Him.
The man who just bought me.
My breath shook and I stared at him like my life depended on it, I didn’t know his name, I didn't know who he was but my body knew one thing.
“Danger” Not the kind I could fight, not the kind I could run from.
This one felt deeper, he stood there like he owned the ground under his feet, like the whole room belonged to him.
And now… Me too.
The noise around us faded, men who were laughing before now sat still, no one spoke, no one moved and my chest rose fast.
“Stay away from me…”
My voice came out low and weak but I meant every word and then he stepped forward, slowly and calmly, like nothing here could stop him, like my fear did not matter.
“No… don’t come close…”
I pulled at the chains again and my wrists burned, the metal cut into my skin.
“I said don’t touch me!”
He did not stop and he stepped onto the platform and now he was right in front of me, too close and I could feel his breath, I could feel his presence.
It wrapped around me, it made my heart beat faster.
He then looked into my eyes deep, like he was searching for something, like he already found it and I hated that look.
“I’m not yours…” I whispered and my lips trembled and then voice shoook
He finally moved and his hand lifted and reached for the chains and then I flinched hard.
“Don’t!”
He ignored me and his fingers moved with control, slow and careful, like this was nothing to him, like I was nothing to him.
The chains loosened and I felt it, the tight hold around my wrists gives way and my breath caught, freedom.
Just one chance.
The moment the chains fell..I ran fast, I didn't think and I didn't look back.
“I have to get out!”
I jumped down from the platform legs moved before my mind.
“Stop her!” someone shouted and I pushed through men.
“Move!”
My hands shoved bodies out of my way and my heart tang so loud that I could hear it.
“I can escape… I can…”
A hand then grabbed me, it was strong and hard.
I screamed.
“No!”
I twisted my body and I fought, I pushed and I hit.
“Let me go!”
But it was no use, he pulled me back, back into him, like I never left and my chest rose fast.
“Don’t touch me!”
I hit his chest again.
“I said don’t…”
“You’re mine now.”
His voice cut through me, it was low and steady and my body froze and then everything stopped for one second.
“No.”
I shook my head fast.
“No, I am not yours!”
He did not react and his face stayed the same, there was no anger, no emotion.
“You were bought,” he said and my heart dropped.
“That makes you mine.”
“No!” I shouted.
“I am not something you own!”
I pushed him again hard but he did not move, not even a step and it felt like pushing a wall.
“Let me go!”
My hand lifted and before I could stop myself…I slapped him, the sound was loud and sharp and it echoed across the room and then silence fell heavy.
No one breathed, no one dared to speak and then my hand shook after and my chest moved fast.
I then looked at him waiting and fear crawled up my spine.
He did not move, he did not shout, he did not even blink and that scared me more than anything.
He then leaned closer and slow and my heart beat faster.
“You’ll learn,” he said and my chest tightened.
“No… I won’t…”
He straightened again, like nothing happened, like I did not just hit him and then he spoke.
“You will marry me.”
Everything inside me stopped, my breath left me, my ears rang.
“What…?”
I then stared at him.
“No.”
My voice was weak and broken.
“No, I won’t…”
“You don’t get to refuse.”
My head shook again fast.
“No… you can’t force me…”
“I can.”
His voice stayed calm, that calm broke something inside me.
“I won’t marry you!”
“You will.”
“No!”
My voice rose loud.
“I would rather die!”
His eyes stayed on mine, no change and no feeling.
“I need an heir.”
My heart dropped deeper and it felt like I fell into darkness.
“What…?”
I then stepped back and my legs felt weak and then fear filled every part of me.
“No…”
“I won’t do that…”
My head shook again and again.
“I won’t give you anything!”
“You will.”
“No!”
I pushed him again and my hands shook.
“I don’t even know you!”
“You don’t need to.”
Tears filled my eyes, it was hot and heavy.
“You’re insane…”
He said nothing, he just watched me.
That look… It confused me, he controlled everything and everyone here feared him.
But he stood there so calm, too calm, like this was normaI, like I was already his wife, like my fear was nothing.
My chest hurt.
“I hate you…” I whispered and my lips trembled.
“I hate you so much…”
There was still nothing, no reaction, no anger and that silence hurt more.
It broke me in a way I didn’t understand and then I turned fast and I ran again.
“I won’t stay here!”
My legs moved but I didn’t stop, I didn’t think.
“I have to get out!”
I pushed past people.
“Move!”
Some stepped back, some just watched but no one helped, me and no one stopped me either, like they knew it was useless.
I saw a door and hope hit me hard, strong and bright.
“I can make it…”
I ran faster and my hand reached for the handle…but then strong hands grabbed me again.
“No!”
I screamed.
“Let me go!”
Guards held me tight, one on each arm and I fought, kicked, pushed and twisted.
“I said let me go!”
They didn’t listen, they dragged me back and back toward him.
“No… no…”
My voice broke and tears fell now.
“Please…”
I then looked at him and my eyes begged.
“Please let me go…”
My voice shook.
“I don’t belong to you…”
He said nothing, he just stood there watching, it was like this was already done, like I already belonged to him, like my words did not matter.
Something inside me broke, slow and painful.
“I hate you…”
My voice was low and weak now.
“I hate all of you…”
Then silence filled the space again, it was heavy and think and then….
A voice spoke from behind.
“You always take things that don’t belong to you.”
My body froze. That voice…
My heart stopped.
No.
No…
I knew that voice, I didn’t want to turn, I didn’t want to see but I had to.
Slowly…I turned and my eyes landed on him and everything inside me shattered, same face, same eyes.
