Two Men, One Night

1198 Words
Elena’s POV My heart stopped, same face, same eyes. No… “No… this is not real…” My voice shook so badly I almost didn’t hear myself and my body moved back on its own, one step, two steps and my heel slipped and then I almost fell. I then grabbed my dress fast, my head spinned and I looked at him again and then I turned back to the man in front of me. Same, everything the same, same eyes, same jaw, same way they looked at me like they saw through me. My chest rose fast, too fast. “No… no…” My hands shook. “This… this is not possible…” The new man stepped forward and he was slow and calm, just like the first one, like they moved the same way, like they thought the same way, like they were one person split into two. I then shook my head again. “Stay away from me…” My voice broke and I didn’t even hear the strength in it anymore. He stopped but his eyes stayed on me, watching, studying, like I was something he already knew and that scared me more. My heart beat fast, too fast and I looked between both of them, one was in front and one was behind. I then turned my head again and again and I felt trapped, my lips parted but no words came out and my throat felt tight. Finally… “Which one of you…” My voice was weak but broken and I couldn’t finish it, I didn’t even know what I wanted to ask, my breathing turned uneven and I held my chest. I couldn’t think, I I couldn’t understand. The man behind me then spoke and his voice was softer but it still cut deep. “You really don’t remember?” I froze, that question, it hit something inside me, something I didn’t want to touch and I turned slowly to him and then my eyes searched his face. “No…” I whispered. “I don’t…” My voice faded and I shook my head. “I don’t know you…” He then tilted his head a little, like he did not believe me, like he was waiting, waiting for me to say more. The first man said nothing, he just stood there, watching and silent and that silence pressed on my chest and it made it hard to breathe. The second man stepped closer, one step, then another and I stepped back again. “Don’t come close…” My voice shook more now but he did not stop. “You really don’t remember?” he repeated and my head was hurt, sharp and sudden and then something flashed in my mind. A room, dark , my body felt heavy and strange, like I couldn’t move and I held my head. “No…” My voice trembled. “I only remember…” I stopped and my breath shook and words felt stuck, he looked at me, waiting. “What do you remember?” His voice was low and careful, it was like he was pulling something out of me. I then closed my eyes and I tried to think, tried to remember. “Voices…” I whispered. My eyes then opened slowly. “I remember voices…” He nodded slowly. “Voices?” I nodded. “Yes…” My chest rose fast. “They were talking… but I couldn’t hear clearly…” My hands shook. “I was not thinking right…” I swallowed hard. “I felt… strange…” He then stepped closer again. “Hands?” That one word hit me hard and my body reacted before my mind, I froze, my breath stopped for a second, images flashed again, hands on me, holding me, pulling me close and touching me. My body remembered what my mind couldn’t and I stepped back fast. “No…” My voice broke. “Stop…” He then watched me closely. “You remember,” he said gently. “No!” I shook my head fast. “I don’t… I don’t remember anything!” But my body said something else and my heart was racing. My skin felt hot, like it remembered every touch and I hated it, I hated it so much. The first man finally moved and he took one step closer, now they were both near me, too close and I fell trapped between them, like the air was closing in. The second man then spoke again. “You begged.” My eyes widened. “No…” I shook my head. “Stop…” “You begged for more,” he said again and my chest tightened and then pain spread through me. “No! Stop talking!” Tears filled my eyes. “I don’t remember that!” “You do,” he said. “No!” I covered my ears. “I said stop!” My body shook and my heart rang so hard it hurt. “I don’t want to hear this!” “I don’t want to know!” My voice broke but they didn’t stop. The first man finally spoke and his voice was low and final. “It wasn’t one man.” There was silence and everything stopped and my body went still, my ears rang and my hands slowly fell from my ears. “What…?” My voice was barely there and I looked at him and then at the other one and my head moved slowly. “No…” My legs felt weak and shook my head slowly. “No… you’re lying…” Tears fell down my face, it was hot and heavy. “This is not true…” My voice broke. “You’re lying to me…” The second man watched me gently, like he was waiting, waiting for me to accept it. “No…” I whispered again. “I was with one person…” My voice shook. “I… I remember…” But did I? My mind felt broken and confused and pieces everywhere, nothing was cleared, just feelings and just flashes. The second man then tilted his head. “Say it.” My heart rang and I shook my head. “I… I can’t…” “Say it,” he repeated and my chest rose fast. “I don’t know…” My voice cracked. “I don’t know which one of you…” Tears fell faster now and my body shook, my knees felt weak and the first man stepped closer, closer than before, too close and his hand was lifted. He then gripped my chin firmly and I gasped. He forced me to look at him and my breath stopped. “You don’t belong to one man.” His voice was low and it cut deep inside me. I froze, my lips trembled and the second man stepped closer too, now they were both in front of me, both watching me and both looking at me like I was already theirs. My heart felt like it would break, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t think. Then…He spoke and finished it. “You belong to both of us.”
