GOD, PLEASE HELP HER

1480 Words
Alex’s P.O.V.   I was totally exhausted, totally drenched, and cold. My suit had become heavier due to rain. But I couldn't remove it as it was somehow keeping me warm a little bit. It was been almost 3 hours in this dense forest but it looked like eternity. I was literally shivering due to the cold weather and heavy rain. My teeth were clattering rapidly due to the cold.   The forest was very dense and thick. Due to darkness, it was almost impossible to walk properly. Heavy bushes…  creepers.. everything was like a hurdle in the path. Due to rain… the ground was so slippery. I almost fell down 5-6 times. There was mud all over my body.   But I was not worried about my injuries. I was hell worried about that poor child who was alone on this scary and chilly night. The air was dead chilling. I was covered in warm clothes still my teeth were clattering due to the cold.   I was worried about my daughter… I wanted to hug my daughter badly… no matter.. how did she look.. she was my daughter… I wanted to hear her…I wanted her to call me dad..... “Where are you honey???... please give me any hint… any hint… God… please save her… please save her”, I was whispering mentally, praying to God for the sake of the safety of my daughter. She was just a mere child. Hundreds of negative thoughts were clouding my mind. Anxiety was filling my heart. I was panting heavily. I stopped near a thick tree and leaned against his trunk. There was dense darkness everywhere.  Nothing was visible. I took my phone out of my pocket and shielded it with my hand to protect it from rainwater. There was no signal. “Dammit” I cursed while taking heavy breaths.   If Ryan would try to contact me, that would not be possible for him. I didn’t know where I was in this dense forest. But I was determined to find my daughter as soon as possible. All my fingers went numb due to the coldness of the weather. How could my daughter survive this?   I was taking small steps and at every step, I looked at every place for her. Under the bushes… any kind of shed-like structure… everywhere.. even small holes under the thick roots of the trees which are above the ground. ..   I didn’t know anything about her location… so I needed to check every possible hideout for her. Whenever lightning struck the area, I tried to scan the whole area quickly for any possibility. It was the only source of light this time. As soon as I gained my breath, I looked towards the tree and searched the bottom for any possible hole or any hideout. I sighed. Nothing was there. I looked in front of me at the vast extension of the forest. I took small steps forward and suddenly fell down. I was rolling down deep in the forest. Small bushes, branches, everything which was coming in my way was slapping me hard. I touched the ground with a severe hit on my back. “Ahhhh”, I yelled in pain. I was not able to stand up instantly. There was pain all over my body. I remained there in the same lying position and waited for the pain to subsidize. I closed my eyes. My eyelids were heavy due to extreme exhaustion. I haven’t born this much physical pain or exhaustion before. But all these would be fruitful and I could happily bear all pain worse than this if I could be able to see my daughter’s face once. Suddenly I heard a sound other than the tapping of rainwater. I opened my eyes and looked around me for the source of the sound. It could be a wild beast or a small animal or……   Nothing was there… I thought I was hallucinating now. So I once again straighten my neck and try to assess the pain. Then again I heard a faint sound. It was like a small scream. It was too low to find out the direction. A small hope with so many negative thoughts came across my mind. What if the sound from her… and might be she is in any danger.. The thought panicked me. “Come on baby… give papa a small hint again please”, I whispered looking around for any hint. I tried to find out my torch again as it slipped from my hand during the fall. I immediately flipped on my hands and roamed my hands all over the ground in search of the torch as there was too much darkness and I was not able to see anything in front of me. I tried quite a few times but not able to find out “Hell to you”, I yelled on the torch and took my phone out of my pocket, and switched on the torch in it. The light was not so sharp but it made a few meters visible all around me. Rain was a big hurdle in my way. I cursed the rain too. Mostly I liked the rain but today, it was pissing me off. I was sitting there on my knees and was looking everywhere for the source of the voice. There was a silence again. Just voice of tapping of raindrops. I concentrated on my senses again to hear the sound clear if it came again. I was continuously praying to god internally for saving my daughter. I was living in solace for the past 6 years after Anaira suddenly disappeared from the surface of the earth one day. I had searched almost every country in hope of finding her. I didn’t have any motive to live my life. I didn’t have any hope in my life.   I found a ray of hope in form of my daughter. There was nothing else in my mind except her. The voice of Anaira telling me about our daughter was continuously ringing in my mind. “God… please … show me some mercy… please save her”, I prayed again looking in hope everywhere for any clue. Suddenly I felt that I saw something inside a bunch of thick bushes a few meters away from me at my back when I was looking densely lighting the area with light coming out from my mobile phone. I again flashed that side. It was too dense there. So I crawled towards that and tried to look inside the area. There was nothing. But I didn’t stop. Then again I heard the same voice. It was coming from the same direction I was looking but it seemed that the source of the voice was a little bit far from here. It was like a small scream. I tried to pass through the bushes on my knees so that I would not miss anything. The bush was very thick and branches just messed with my hair and my shirt. I removed all the twigs tangled in my hair and crawled further.   The voice was dying down slowly. “No… no… please please please baby… don’t loose hope… don’t loose hope”, I pleaded in a low voice to my unknown daughter. With great difficulty, I somehow managed to pass the bush but there was nothing there. The area was not so clean but there was nothing like a hideout. I stared helplessly. But again I heard the voice. It was somehow clear now.  It sounded like someone was in great pain. My heartache with the mere thought of my daughter being in pain. Everything was shattered my heart into tiny pieces bit by bit. I was on the verge of crying due to my helplessness. I am a multi-billionaire. I own numerous hotels all over the world, various shipping cargos, chains of malls all over the world, and the list went on. But here I am, helpless, shattered, not able to find my daughter who was suffering badly. The water was running through under me. I was looking in the water. The grass under the water was looking pure. I looked at the water the flow of water going towards a pit hole near a thick tree standing in front of me. A pit hole.. It struck me. I immediately crawled towards there. I flashed the light inside the hole and my eyes widened in horror. A small child was hanging in the middle struck into a thick root and almost drowning in the water.
