Abakumov — Viktor Semyonovich Abakumov (1908-1954), prominent Soviet official in NKVD, brutal head of MGB, later executed under Stalin.
Aleksandr Orlov — Alexander Mikhailovich Orlov (1895-1973), general in the Soviet secret police and NKVD with several foreign assignments who turned spy and fled the Soviet Union to the U.S.
Alexandra Kollontai — Alexandra Mikhailovna Kollontai (1872-1952), Ambassador to Norway, famous for her strongly-held idea on free love, the role of marriage etc.
Boris Sheremetiev — Count Boris Sheremetiev (1652-1719), an admirer of West European ways and a diplomat, later an important military commander.
