A packing list, a list of love conquests, a list… A person makes a list when he is about to do something, or when he wants to understand something. A list is a forward-looking document. A shopping list, a guest list (to work out a seating chart), a birthday list for May, a list of New Year’s resolutions (mine is not to mess with minors and faithful wives). A check-out list of documents received, of facts not to be released to the public; a playlist, a most-visited list, a list of endangered species found in the Tula region.
