The baby shower was so much fun, but all too soon it was over, and I was back to my doctor-ordered bedrest.
Some days I went down and set up camp in the living room, and other days I stayed right in the bedroom. Japheth would bring me breakfast in bed before he left to do his farm chores.
Japheth had bought me a little desk that was meant to go over my lap so that I could work from bed, while leaning against the pillows and headboard.
It was a great idea, but my belly was so large, I could barely see over it nowadays. The baby would kick so hard sometimes that it would make the lap-desk jump.
I sighed and shut the top of my laptop. I had been going through work emails and downloading manuscripts all morning. I had made a dozen phone calls earlier, and set up a video conference
